I don't think it is the same William Waddle. The William Waddle I am looking for was born abt 1770-1775 and most likely immigrated from Ireland. There is a story in History of Mercer County Pa. that William Waddle and his sister Sarah Waddle McDowell arrived in Mercer County from Franklin County Pa. in 1798. Sarah had twin boys abt 3 years old with her. One twin was Isaih McDowell. What I am actually trying to find out is what McDowell Sarah was married to and who the twin was. And of course, William Waddles parents would be the same as Sarah's. William Waddle b. abt. 1770 died in the War of 1812 at Camp Erie, Pa. His widow Catherine Stephenson was living in Mercer County in the 1820 census I think it was. This William had sons but the sons had no children. He had daughters and I could find the name of one of them if you want. I don't know anything about William Waddle except what I have told you here, so I would still be very interested in any info you have. My email is lstanard@neb.rr.com. Could you let me know what Waddle line is associated with this Waddle? There is a William Waddle in my line--brother to my gggg grandfather, James Wilson Waddle. It is thought their father was "David" and there may have been other siblings. They were in Mecklenburg County NC in the late 1700's. Our line eventually moved through GA to AL and beyond. Does anyone have a copy of "Names of People Who Took the Oath of Allegiance to the State of Pennsylvania". Source Linn, John B. and Wm. H. Egle? I think the years are 1776-1799. It is out of print and I can't find it anywhere. I am looking for William Waddle on page 32. Source publication is 4629.10. I found this info on Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s. Ancesty.com has the publication by Westcott, Thompson but not this one.

I read your post. Our ggrandfather was a George Washington Waddle born 1 Jan 1851. He married Mary Ridling and they had ten children, some of which were ministers.
The first record I have of him is 1870 census in Columbia, AR with the W. C. Ridling family.
I have a picture of he and Mary I would be glad to share.
I have been unable to find either parents or siblings for our George.

Yes, Ben was married to Alice White. Both are buried
in Stockton, Ca. This is great! I am not related
to the Waddles, however, I decided to do research
for my friend at work, Brian Waddle. I had spent
many years researching my own family and had shared
with him my interest in genealogy. He seemed interested
in finding out about his ancestors, so I offered to find
his roots, based on some information he had provided me about
his grandfather, Robert Waddle. In about a month's time, I was
able to trace his Waddle ancestry back to
the 1850s or 1840s in Wisconsin.

My hubby's mom and dad were from Williamsburg, Whitley Co, Ky. Ethel May Waddle married Everett Alvin Garrett abt 1940. I'm not sure where there families came from. I can't believe the similarities in our family names. My mother was Ethel Mae Foster who married my father Wilbur J Waddle. His father was William Taylor Waddle and his mother was Ethel Mae Shaw Waddle. I thought with a name like that no one else would have a duplicate. Mom was born 11-18-1934 and Dad was born 3-3-1912. My Grandpa Waddle was born 4-23-1876 and his Grandfather came from Wheeling, WVA. Where did your family come from originally?

My GGrandmother (Winnie Brumley) on my father's side (Orena and Leona Waddle's mother ) m. to Charles W. Waddle remarried after Charle's death to a John E. Hicks. Somehow related to Orena's husband.

Very well could be the same family. Your names appear to match up with my family line. I do not know how Charles died but from census records it appears that he died fairly early. His wife(widow) remarried into the Hicks family. Orena Waddle also married into the Hicks family.

I am trying to find the connection for Thomas W. Waddle b. 1832 GA. I have been told that his father was John Smith Waddle. I am wondering if that information is wrong. Several people have informed me that his father was Noel Waddle.

Below is the only information that has been provided to indicate that this may be true.

I do know that Thomas had a sister named Bershiba Waddle who married an Eliga Prater. Thomas himself married Eliga's sister, Millie Ann Prater.

If anyone can shed any light on this, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Wow, look at those straight rows!! Some way I think there is a
connection here. Notice that Thomas W. is the only one with a middle
int. Also their children's names are like some of Thomas Children later
on!! Also notice that the age of Thomas W. is correct. Maybe he lived
with noel and Mary?? If this is him. I think it is.

My problem is I started this when I was about 15 years old. I have
things all on paper. I have been transferring to Family Tree Maker.
But there's so much. Also another part of the family was working with
me and sometimes she would just give me info. Also I get to talk to
Fanny Louise Waddle Alcorn until she died in 1963. There are some
stories I will tell you later. Have not been home a long time, went to
my grandsons 8th grade grad. I got all your e-mails, and no I am not
board. I need to get alot of things together.
I know I have copies from a family bible somewhere. I have so much it
will take forever.
Right now I have almost 400 names in our tree and its growing more ever
day. I have been at a lose as to who my G- grandfather was on my dads
side. I have look for 30 years and nothing. Until last Tuesday night I
linked up with a girl who knew all the info. Not only did I find out
who he was but all his father and family. What a shock. I also was
born on Fanny Louis Birthday Dec, 10, 1946. Oh no, just told you how
old I am!
I have one daughter Cindy who is 35 and 1 granddaughter Jesse 11 and a
grandson Robert who is 13. My husband now is Robert Dee Milican, we
have been married for 23 years going on 24 this Sept. No children with
him. I was married to Jerry Dale Morgan (Cindy's Dad). Strange thing
is my mothers maiden name was also Morgan. Found out we have the same
family members about 4 gen. ago. Oh well, I think we are all related
somewhere along the line. I really want to thank you for what you have
sent. I will try and get more of my things together.

The Enumerator spelled Waddle (Wadel). But as my grandfather told me
(he was the
Enumerator for LaFlore Co. OK) Names were spelled out anyway also ages
were guessed at times, or the person asked didn't know exact ages.

33. He lived in Stark Ark. and she lived in Prim Ark, I was told he
may have been a minister. He married William and Rosie Henry. Left after
