I am researching Elizabeth Wadley (Wadleigh) who married Russell Arthur in Martiansburg NY. Elizabeth was Born in 1787 in New Hampshire however I have no other information on her parents. I am wondering if she could be related to one of the Wadley's who settled in the Watertown Area c1800.

Bonita, I'm sorry it has been so long getting back to this site. My husband was under 2 years of age when Bertha died. In the year 2000 Jack became bed ridden. In Jan 2002 he had his right leg amputated above the knee and then in Dec of th same year the left was amputated also above the knee on Christmas Eve. He weighed over 200 lbs and was about 6 ft. I had a hard time turning him and doing the things he was in need of daily. But I gave it my all doing everything that was required. He was not old enough to remember how many siblings he had or their names when he was taken from Berthas home where an Aunt was taking care of him and agreed that he should go home with his Dad. I'm sure his children will be glad to know about their family as well. I Thank You for this information and I will read this to him anyway because as far as I am concerned he is still with me. He passed on 10 February 2003. One week to the day after our 27th anniversary. Will be glad to hear from you at any time.

Your post is quite old, but I am going to try a reply. My grandmother was maude wadley sivils, a daughter of jack and fannie wadley. I have been told that she had indian blood. From your post I assume that was from jack who was a cherokee? Any info on this will be appreciated.

My Grandmother was Maude Wadley Sivils. She was married to Horace W. Sivils in Ripley, payne county, Okla. On June 5, 1908. The witnesses were "Robbert Wadley and Lula Baker" Her mother "Fannie Wadley" gave consent. All of this information came from the marriage license. Other than the license, I have no other reliable information. Because of other things I found on the web and some very faint childhood memories I believe Her father was Jackson Wadley. I believe the Robbert Wadley was a brother and recall that she had a sister called Lou. I believe her name was really spelled "Maud". I think she is the maude referred to in the post. Are we Cousins?

I am looking for the parents of John B (Burnett) Wadley. He settled a ranch in Grham TX, with his brother, He married * he signed his nane as Jon on the marriage licens) Eilla ( as signed on the marrage licens) Family said her name was Eullia ) King in Grham, John later moved his family to Hugo Ok.. which was a ver short distence from Grham . My father in law was the youngest son of five boys, Malchom Lewis Wadley, he gave me a book of a church (Tonk) )the family used to attend in the earley 1900, the Wadley mentioned in this book are Willie,Jessie, Eula, Virgel ( which my father in law said was his cousin) I am looking for the brother who lived on the ranch in Texas in hopes that it will lead me to the father of John B. or where they came from. I was told that John B . Wadley moved up north ( didnt say where ) his wife didnot want to move with him, she stayed in Hugo and raised the children. He passed away somewhere up north of Texas and I would like to try to find out where that is also.
Mrs, Wadley and there of her sons are in the Hugo Cemtery. Any information any one might have might help.

Is your Jack really Jackson Wadley b.1818/20 m. 1st.Margaret Williams 1842, Caldwell,Co.Ky. 2nd Elizabeth Hawkins,Vickers 1850 Pope CO. ILL. and his Father Robert Wadley m.Comfort Paynes in Christian Co.Ky. This family moved around alot they lived in Kentucky.Missouri,Tenn.,ILL.,OK.,and Texas and there could be other states.If this is the same Jackson he is my gg-grandfather and my grandparents said we had Native AMERICAN in our blood line both my mothers and father.You can tell it is on mother side and the Wadley's is on my fathers side of the famiLy his mother was a Wadley she married a Wilkey.I have some information on this family all the way back to Robert. Would anyone have info on the descendants of Thomas and Margaret Rowan Wadley, who were in NH.

I found a listing over at lds on a son of Thomas and Margaret, AARON, born about 1769-1848 who married Abigale Simons in 1790.. Would anyone know if he had descendants???

I'm working on the Wadleys of Jefferson County and stumpled upon a Aaron Wadley 1828-1908 of St.Lawrence. His wife was (#2)Lydia Wells, of Wells settlement who died in 1918 and (#1)Laura Tarbell, who died in 1862. Lydia and Aaron had no children...Can't find Aaron and Laura on 1860 census...so not sure if they had any children.. Aaron is living with his mothers family, Thomas Shaw, in 1850..

I believe his parents were James Wadley 1795-? and Sarah Shaw.

I'm trying to figure if Aaron 1828-1908 is a descendant of Joseph Wadley, settler of Watertown or could he be related to Aaron Wadley, son of Thomas and Margaret..

Still searching for descendants of Emma Sanford (sometimes Samford) and Christopher Columbus Wadley.

Emma is the daughter of Emerson Sanford and Narcissa
Nunnery Funderburk Sanford.

Emerson and Narcissa were married in Pemiscot County, MO in the 1880's. Emerson's name shows as Samford in the marriage records. Narcissa was the widow of Robert Funderburk and Emerson was the son of Jennette (unknown)
Samford / Sanford.

By 1900 they had moved to Gibson County, Tennessee and were living with their two children Emma (b. abt 1885) and Enoch (3/13/1893 - 12/5/1908) in Milan. Narcissa's daughter, Neacy Funderburk, had married Joseph E. 'Jody' Butler
by this time.

In the 1910 census, Narcissa and Emerson Sanford are separated or divorced and she is living with Emma and son-in-law Christopher Columbus Wadley.

In 1920, Narcissa and Emerson Sanford are living together again, still in Milan, and Emma and Christopher Columbus Wadley (b. abt 1874) live nearby
and have children: Erin, Millard, Mattie, Eugene and Mary.

Narcissa died in 1922. I have been unable to locate any of the Wadleys after the 1920 census.

do you have any wadley people who lived in hardin co,ky at or before 1850 and than in bates co,missouri,at least to 1870,do not know where they went after census of 1870 for bates county,missouri, thier youngest son, winfield scott wadley,was found on the 1900 census for,sedgwich co,wichita,kansas, there was minks and wadley in butler co,kansas 1900 to 1925. wadley people also in newton,kansas,this was nelson wadley,
the wadley people in ky,married into the family lines of" marshall and castleman.
i cannot find the deaths or marriages of some of the children of, william jackson wadley,

my brickwall is the children of william jackson wadley and wife jane, or rebecca jane marshall,from hardin county,kentucky. other families connected to this line, are marshal and castleman. possibly westfall.

jackson and jane moved to bates co.missouri, they are on the 1860 and 1870 census for bates co,mo. all thier children were born in bates co,mo. i only have info on one of thier children.
he is winfield scott wadley. winfield once lived in,butler co,eldorado,kansas,that is when he married, phebe farnum,they than moved to wichita,kansas,she died.they are on 1900 census for wichita,kansas,winfield died in webster,woodward co,oklahomain 1914.
i do not know where william jackson and jane died, and i cannot find deaths or any marriages for thier other children, the other children are, hardin wadley- virginia wadley -missouri wadley- josephine wadley- columbus wadley.

i am missing the other children of william jackson wadley,
jackson wadley was from hardin,kentucky,he moved abt 1852 to
bates county,missouri,he is on census for 1860 and 1870,his children were born in bates co,missouri,
the missing children are, columbus wadley, hardin wadley,josephine wadley,virginia wadley,missouri wadley.
as of 1891 and 1892
winfield scott wadley is in wichita,kansas, none of his family seem to be there.
he and his wife are on 1900 census of wichita,kansas, winfield,s wife dies in wichita,
winfield takes his 2 children and goes to woodward co,webster,oklahoma,winfield dies there in 1914.

I'm looking for information about my grand parents. William C. Wadley and Bessie Mrtyle Sheilds Wadley. They have past away and I never had a change to find out about them and my history. If anyone can send me some information that will help me with my tree, i would greatly appreciate it.
I remember the being some family members in Paul's Valley, OK. Ed Wadley I think was his brother and I'm not sure of other family member. My Dad is Elmer Lee and he passed away in 1983.

Looking for any possible information on Mabel, who married a James Anderson Wadley, these people are my grandparents, my mother is Shirley. She has no information on her mother's (my grandmother), side of the family. She mentioned being possibly born in Paragould, Greene County. Possible connections with Marktree, and Lepanto? Also mentioned were Poinsett County. I have tried hard to find info but have been very unlucky. My grandmother, Mabel, had a brother Carl Phillips, and one other brother who died when yound as result of a drowning. If anyone can help. My great great grandmother was Hannah Mahala Wade from Wivenhoe Essex. I believe she had a sister Amelia who married a Richard Wadley. I know their father was a Samuel Wade who was born in Suffolk. Hannah was married first to a Mr Dodds and had two children before being widowed young. She then married my great great grandfather William Jolly a Master Mariner from South Shields. William was lost in the deep waters off Germany. they had at least 2 further children, my great grandmother Matilda being the youngest. I wonder if there is a connection with your branch of the Wadley familyh

In my family tree I have an Amelia Wordley (also known as Wadley) from East Donyland, just across the River Colne from Wivenhoe. As far as I know her husband was S Potter.

My gt,gt,grandmother was Elizabeth Wordley and gt,gt aunt was Sarah. Cranfield and Watson are surnames associated with these two ladies. Wadley is a family name from Glemsford in Suffolk, where most of the Wadley/Wordleys from the River Colne originated. There are still Wadleys there to this day as there are in Wivenhoe

Quite possibly, as my WADLEYS (WORDLEYS)were from East Donyland Rowhedge (River Colne) nr Colchester and also they originated from Glemsford in Suffolk (note as you will know there are several variation on the spelling !!)
