Hi Debi,

I saw your posts on the Brays and Wageleys when I Googled thoses names together. I recently bought and am finishing the restoration of 4821 Butler Street in Pittsburgh, and found your family's names on old maps from this site:

http://digital.library.pitt.edu/pittsburgh/

I have found alot of information here on this site about our house, which was built in 1854, and have taken great interest in the house's history. Here is how to find some of the info:

In the "Maps" section, go to "G. M. Hopkins Comapny Maps 1872-1940", search for "Butler St", and then click on these maps to find the house on Bulter Street across from the cemetery and between 48th and 49th Streets:

1872, Plate 58 with a house labeled "M. Bray"
1890, Plate 7 with a house labeled "L.M. Wageley"

Also, if you back to the main site and click on the "Census" tab up top, the Brays pop up under a search when you select "Pittsburgh, 1870". Click on "Martin Bray"'s "Household Members" and many more come up with their ages.

Lastly, if you click on the "Texts" tab, type in "Bray", and go to the 6th listing that comes up ("Directory of Pittsburgh and Allegheny cities, 1877-1878"), many of the Brays come up listed with their occupations.

We also have a document naming the Anna T. and Lydia M. Wageley when the house was transfered to Nickolas and Anna Radick on June 10, 1947 that I can send over if you like. There is also a place in the basement where "N.R. 1948" is scrawled in to the concrete.

Anyway, I hope you get this email!

Thanks,
Jonathan Daniel
sacrebleu76 at yahoo dot com

Grandfather's middle name

I finally received my mother's social security application which included the full name of my grandfather, Charles Comegys Wageley. I located a one in a family tree, but that listed him as being born in april 1883. My mother, his daughter was born Jan. 1925, which would of made him about 43 or 44 at the time of her birth. He was a doctor of osteopathy medicine. Does anyone have more information? Could the Charles Comegys Wageley, that i had located in another family tree be the same man?
