Thank you for taking the trouble to respond. My grandfather was Charles Henry Wain born in Holborn on 28th February 1886, son of Walter James Wain and Frances Henly. He married Caroline Sarah Brown on 25th December 1904. I have been unable to find her date of birth as they both lied about their age on the marriage lines. He had two sisters Lizzie (Elizabeth) and Maud, one of whom moved to Kent at some time. The family originally came from the City of London. However, there is no-one for me to ask and I am finding it difficult to get any information. I have found via the Internet a number of Wains who have been married/christened in St. Leonards Church Shoreditch where my own parents were married. My father was Charles William Wain d.o.b. 20th March 1913 and my mother was Mary Ellen Day. Unfortunately, the area where they lived was badly bombed and they moved out to Enfield during the war. Many of the parish records were destroyed during the bombing and this has not helped. Any details which you can tie up would be very welcome. Many thanks for your help.
