Surnames: WAKEFIELD
In trying to find Wakefield info, a cousin of my husband found this as follows ( in this order and no dates)
Bishop of Worcester
Henry Wakefield-Archdeacon of Canterbury
William Wakefield buried in the Church of Holy Trinity in Pompet
Thomas Wakefield, reader of Hebrew at Cambridge College
John Wakefield came to America in 1637 on the "America" with bros. Thomas and Richard.
There is a note that the Wakefield's are "of noble blood". Supposedly they had a castle in Eng., which they dismantled and rebuilt here in America.
Let me know if this is helpful because we can use some help on research. Maybe some of our English cousins would have some ideas on how to verify this info.
