There was a small meeting established at Connaught, the province to which the Irish were expelled in the Cromwellian settlement-In 1669 William Edmundson visited Connaught-his ancestors came from the North of England in Cromwell's Army-rec'd grants from him to settle in Ireland. In this book are pictures of Thomas Christy Wakefield pg 127 he married Jane Saiwdith pg 140 and they had a son Thomas C. Wakefield jr page 142. I also ran across papers in PRONI introduction click on wills estate papers and type in Wakefield or http://www.proni.gov.uk/introduction_greer_lowry_and_alexand... that tells of a business-linen And Wakefield is part of it. If this doesn't work do a search. There are references to PA- Samuel and John Morton-Elizabeth Morton's father is supposingly John Morton- that are interesting for anyone looking for an early Wakefield-Morton connection and there are records for 1770's, also, and the Alexanders, and of course Quakers.I am curious if anyone else has ran across these and if they have figured out the familes?
