Chris,I cannot answer your question but am curious. My late moms (Enid) family were from the Devon area (Wakeham) and until recently still had an aunt Hilda living in Salcombe. Her son lives in Exeter. Are your family from this area? If so there must be some family tie.

Our Wakeham family from South Brent starts with John Wakeham born c 1810 in South Brent who married Mary Ann (Dalley?) in Aug 1830 in Stoke Damarel. John and Mary are my husband's ggggrandparents. They had 2 children that we know of Mary G Wakeham born c 1837 and Thomas Bradridge Wakeham born quarter 4 1838. Both were born in South Brent. Our line then continues with Thomas with him marrying Mary Amelia Hosking also from South Brent.

I do have further generation info and would be willing to provide this if anybody is interested. Please contact me.

Hi Chris, my husband's Wakeham family are from South Brent and start with John Wakeham born c 1810. He married Mary Ann (Dalley?) in Aug 1830. They went on to have two children (that we know of so far) Mary G Wakeham born 1837 and Thomas Bradridge Wakeham born Q4 1838 both in South Brent. I've had a look in our file and cannot find a Mary Wakeham born 1780 but then again we haven't got any further than 1810 - so with more investigation we could maybe find a link. Not sure whether you have the 1851 Census CD for Devon so I had a look for your Mary Wakeham and found that she is indeed listed as the wife of Edward Rossiter. Please let me know if you already have the info from this census otherwise I will forward it on to you.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Ana

Hello Ana

I read a very old posting regarding your Wakeham family connection. My 2xgreatgrandfather, Thomas Wakeham b abt 1827 married a Mary A possibly Hatch but no verification and they had two children Elizabeth Ann and Alfred R.

Would like to know if these were the children you wrote about in your message posted.

Kind regards

Deborah

Hello Rachel

I viewed a very old posting regarding your Wakeham family research. I no very little about my Wakeham connections so would love to hear from you. My 2xgreatgrandfather, Thomas Wakeham b. abt 1827 Bigbury, Devon married Mary A Hatch? b. abt 1831 South Brent, Devon. Their children are Elizabeth Ann b. 1865 Devonport and Alfred R b. 1872 Devonport...

Possible parents of Mary (Hatch) were William & Elizabeth Hatch both b. abt 1811 Parish North Huish 1841 Census

Would love to hear if any connection as I know family must still live in Devon. Kind regards Deborah
