Harry Fred Walburn
Mr. Harry Fred Walburn, 64, Salina, passed Thursday, February 28, 2008. He was an inspector for Beech Aircraft until his retirement on January 12, 2007, after 40 years of employment. Mr. Walburn was born in Erie, Pa. on October 24, 1943, the son of the late Harry Donald and Lucille (Aldridge) Walburn. He was married on April 17, 1966, in Salina to Karen E. Keller and she survives. He was a member of the Machinist Union, Golden Eagles Motorcycle Club (where he was the first Santa Claus for the Salina Toy Run), and the Salina Twirlers Square Dance Club. He loved traveling on his motorcycle, fishing with friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his
mother, Lucille Walburn, of Erie, Pa.;
two daughters, Ellen L. Bates and husband, Troy, of Wilson, and Rebecca S. McCreary and husband, Alan, of Lincoln, Neb.; a son, Harry L. Walburn, and wife, Tammy, of Lincoln, Neb.; five sisters, Christina Gunn and husband, George, of Erie, Pa., Georgia Brown and husband, Virgil, of Erie, Jeanne S. Kaszer of Uniontown, Pa., Donna Schaefer and husband, Russell, of Florida, and Iris Tarkowski and husband, Jim, of Erie;
two brothers, Richard Walburn and wife, Rose, of Erie,
and William Walburn and wife, Phyllis, of Erie, Pa.;
five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He is preceded in death by his father
and one brother, John Kaszer.
A service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, in Salina, Kan. at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Burial will be at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina.
