Jeremiah Jackson and Rebeca Waldo

I have from other sources that Jeremiah Jackson born in 1706 Boston, Mass., married a Rebecca Waldo born in in 1709 from Windham, CT.
Her parents were said to have been John Waldo( 1678-1736) and Elizabeth Ffenno(1680-1720)
There seemed to have been a FEW Jeremiahs and I am trying to get them in their correct order.
Was this Jeremiah (1706-1735) a son of Jeremiah and Hannah Jackson?
Thanks for any help!
SGM

1878 letter from Blanche P. Waldo

LETTER FROM DAKOTA to SIOUX FALLS FROM BLANCHE P. WALDO

LETTER FROM DAKOTA
SIOUX FALLS, Sept. 12, 1878
This September afternoon, Marion, my eldest sister, and Jennie, my younger, sit on the summit of one of the beautiful bluffs of Sioux Falls, a delightful little village in the south-eastern part of Dakota territory. As I gaze around me from this height of 200 feet, or perhaps more, I see our beautiful Sioux River winding its way through a lovely valley, and tumbling over mighty rocks, forming a foaming cataract. Oh! how beautiful the large island, covered with verdure is on this barren prairie. This island contains nine acres of ground, and its principal trees are elm and oak. Sioux Falls is a thriving little place, and as we sit here, we can see the carpenters at work putting up the frames of business houses as well as residences, and the masons venering them with brick. The largest hotel of the place is a large venered building. I smile when I think of the surprise Eastern people manifest as they see the beautiful residences, elegantly furnished of some of our citizens. Before us lies the railroad which was finished through here last month, and on which they are now at work. A great many strangers are coming in every day, some seeking fortunes, and others pleasures; among the latter are six gentlemen, friends of ours, from Evansville, Wisconsin, our former place of residence, surprise us by stepping in upon us unexpectedly. We had a very pleasant visit with them. One mile beyond the depot is the cemetery, on the hillside; it is a beautiful yet lovely spot, and a cherished place for us, because alas! one year ago, we laid all that remained of our beautiful and dearly beloved sister there, and only last month a little niece; just a little while and we too may be laid thre. Our home is just at the foot of the bluff, and Marion and husband think it is a pretty place. Now I am no story writer, my friends, but please accept my poor description of my western home.
Blanche P. Waldo

Eliza (Boss) Waldo?

I am looking for more information on Eliza (Boss)Waldo. I am especially looking for where and when she died and where she is interred. She is my wife's great-grandmother. In 1900 she was widowed and living with her youngest son, Alfred Frederick Waldo and family in Havre De Grace, MD - per the 1900 census. We have no information after that.

She is believed to have been the daughter of Solomon BOSS and Catherine KNOWLES and was born 15 March 1830 in Smyrna, Chenango County, NY.

She was the 2nd wife of Edmund Freeman, Waldo (b 21 June 1811 in Plattsburg, Clinton County, New York.) who was a son of Jesse Waldo, JR - a patriot from CT along with his father, Jesse Waldo, SR. She was married to Reverend Edmund Freeman Waldo 28 April, 1859 in Palmyra, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. He died on 16 January 1893 in Harbor Springs, Emmet Co, MI.

Any help or information you have would be deeply appreciated.

Rescued Photos, WALDO Surname, Fremont, Muskegon Co. MI
I rescue old photos as a hobby, if there's identification on them. I picked up five photos of various members of the WALDO family of Fremont, Newaygo County, Michigan. One of four young women, two of them are identified. One is Hattie Smith and the other is Anna Waldo. Another group photo is of three WALDO girls, identified as: Anna, Dena and Lizzie Waldo. The third photo is of Rollo & Dena Waldo. The last two are of Anna WALDO, taken at different times of her life.

I'd like to locate family to send this to. Please contact me off site at: digginroots@yahoo.com for details.

Kathy

I would appreciate any information on L G Waldo ( I don't know if that was his actual first name or if it was Lagee and he just went by L G). He was born in 1845 and died in Albion, Pa. in 1920. The one item I really need is his father and mother's name. I believe they were from somewhere in ohio.

Thanks
Ward Waldo

Robert Waldo & Mehitabel Whitmore

Greetings to all Waldo cousins. I believe I am descended from Robert Waldo and Mehitabel Whitmore through their son, Lewis J. Waldo. I would love to hear from anyone related to this Waldo line, or having any info on Robert Waldo and/or Lewis Waldo.

My understanding is that Lewis Waldo was born in New York and moved with his parents and family to Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He first married Martha Johnson around 1839/1840, and had two children, Jane (abt 1840) and James G. (abt 1848). He later married Fatama Frost and had John Wesley (24 Feb 1857, Michigan), Lewis Julian (20 Oct 1860, Iowa), Ralph (abt 1862, Iowa), Mattie (abt 1868, Michigan), Roette (abt 1872, Iowa), and Henrietta (abt 1875, Iowa). Lewis died 7 February 1884, and is buried in Albion, Marshall, Iowa.

Hereld Stuart
Edward Waldo-Thankful Dimmock

Pauline, Here it is:
Edward, son of John (Cornelius) and Rebecca (Adams) Waldo; b. April 23, 1684 at Dunstable, Mass., d. Aug. 3, 1767, at Windham, Conn., aged 84. He was educated in the Boston Schools and for a number of years taught school in Windham. He lived in that part of Windham which is now Scotland, and became an extensive farmer. He built a house in that town in 1714 which was still standing in 1902 and was occupied by one of his decendants. The Third Society of Windham or Scotland parish was endowed with society privileges in May, 1732. The first meeting was held June 22, 1732, when Mr. Waldo served as moderator and was elected on the society committee, and on Sept. 20,1732 was placed on the committee to provide a minister June 25,1733, Edward Waldo, John Bass, and Joseph Meacham were appointed a committee to agree with suitable men to build the meeting house. March 27,1734 the Rev. Ebenezer Devotion having been engaged, Mr. Waldo was put on a committee to make provision for the elders and messengers at the ordination. Nov. 19, 1734 he and Nathaniel Bingham were chosen deacons. In 1735 he and his wife Thankful Dimmock were transferred to the Scotland Church.Mr. Waldo's transactions in real estate in Windham are numerous but the deeds throw no new light on the family history. Most of the lands he owned were given to his sons Edward and Shubael. He married June 28,1706 at Windham, Thankful daughter of Deacon Shubael Thomas and Joanna Bursley Dimmock of Mansfield, Conn. Edward and Thankful are buried in the Palmertown Cemetery at Scotland, Conn.
Children of Edward Waldo and Thankful Dimmock Waldo born at Windham, Conn.:
Shubael b. 4-17-1707
Edward b. 7-27-1709
Cornelius b. 2-18,1711
Anne b. 11-8,1714 d. 1-17-1734 unmarried
John b. 4-19-1717 d. 8-20-1726
Bethuel b. 6-10-1719
Thankful b. 7-8-1721 d. 8-25-1726
Joannah b. 4-18-1723
Zacheus b. 7-19,1725
John b. 10-18-1728.
