I have done some research for the Ford/Walkingstick connection but haven't gotten too far with it. I have been to your website, "Walkingstick of the Cherokee" and am just amazed at how much time and effort you have put into it. It's awesome! I do have a question for you, if you would be so kind as to help me if you can. I understand that you are extremely busy but I would be forever grateful. My question is, "Who is Tah-nie Walkingstick?"....... I have seen his name spelled several different ways such as you have on your website.(Tahnie, Tennie, Tah'ah'nee, Tahnee)

When I started researching my Walkingstick family a little over a year ago, I ran across this family group sheet that someone had posted on angelfire.com for Tah-nie Walkingstick and his descendants. I printed it out and for some reason I have used this group sheet as my reference for my ancestors. I have done much searching but cannot find much for Tah-nie other than what was stated on the family sheet. This is what I have and how I am related:

Tah-nie Walkingstick was born Abt 1801 and died December 02, 1862 in the Civil War from wounds he had suffered during "The Battle of Cane Hill" in Arkansas. He was with Drew's Regiment, Co E, Sgt.
Wife unknown....

His children:

Levi Walkingstick married Besty? and had the following children:

John Walkingstick married Catherine Ophelia Stopp and had the following children: (I believe Catherine was his third wife??)

Wilson Walkingstick married Nancy C. Thomas and had the following children:

James W. Walkingstick, b. 1901

William H. Walkingstick, b. 1908?

Mary C. Walkingstick is my Grandmother and her second husbands name was James A. Smith. This is my dads parents, my Grandpa and Grandma. They had the following children:

Mary Jadine Smith
Ona Jean Smith
Luther David Smith(this is my dad and he goes by Bill, the only child living from this marriage and is in Oklahoma)
James Smith

Also I would like to know if all people with the last name Walkingstick would somehow be related? I would appreciate anything you may be able to tell me concerning Tah-nie Walkingstick or maybe even correcting me with my information. Thank you kindly, Diana
