Wall Family

Hello
Can any help me please. I am trying to find information on my Grandmother May (Mary) Wall. I believe she was born c1900 possibly in London. She had a daughter my mother Margaret Wall born July 1929. May or Mary gave birth to my mum in Northumberland street workhouse, St marylebone, London. She left the workhouse with mum and went to live in Hampstead Road. My Grandmother then left my mum with a Mrs Harriett Pocock who lived in Redhill Street. Mum was finally given up to the care of the local authority in December 1930 and went to The Sacred Heart Convent where she stayed till she was 14-15yrs old. The whereabouts that my Grandmother went to is not known and I have hit a brick wall trying to trace her. Can anyone give me any ideas as to where to look, we belive she may have married and had other children but cannot confirm this. My mum wanted to find out details but sadly died last year and I would love to be able to find out something/anything in connection with my grandmother.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't show any relation to the Headrick/Hedrick line. David Wall & Martha J. Christy were married November 4, 1846 and their offspring were born between 1846 - 1860's.

Could be a sibling to David. Will be on the lookout for these names and let you know if I locate any.

Cathy DeMarco

WALL Family in Mississippi

My ancestry research is leading me more and more into Mississippi, specifically Jackson, MS, but I am not finding any message boards or ancestry sites for Mississippi. Anyone know of any good sites or contact for Mississippi, specifically Jackson, MS? Other than my particular line of Wall's, I have not come across very many Wall's who were living in Jackson, MS. I am now looking for census records, etc for Clark Stenson Wall Sr, and Jesse Wall, his younger brother in Jackson, MS.

Last census records I have is from the 1900's, has Clark and Jesse in their parents, Ezekial P and Frances Wall home in Davidson Co TN. Clark was 18. Next information would place Clark Sr in MS is his oldest son, Clark Jr's birth in Jackson, MS on 9-29-1914.

Again, if anyone has any good sources for Jackson MS, I would appreciate it.

Edward Wall, son of Thomas and Ellen Fitzgerald, and husband of Bridget Mulaney, lived in Solon, Iowa, then homesteaded to Clonmel, KS in 1874. Their children were Thomas, Ellen, Edward (Edmond) P., Mary A., Ellen (Nellie), John J., Frances Pierce, Walter, and William Charles (Sharkey). None of the children lived to have children of their own. I have more information on this family, and would like to share it with Edward's sibling's descendants. They are Ann, John, James, Robert, Catherine, and Mary Wall listed in the 1860 Census, Highland, Wisconsin.
Sue Hickey

FL.
I know my ggf was descended from Elijah and his 1st wife Eliza (Mary Ann Elizabeth Roberts) Wall who had 10 sons (George, Lawrence, Thomas, John P., Rowan L., Belton, Jackson, George (2) James and Reinzi) and 2 daughters (Elizabeth Ann and Angeline Ursula) and his second wife Elizabeth of whom Hortense, Esther, and Florence were the daughters.

The geneology of my family goes
Emory P. Wall Jr. (born Florida)
Emory P. Wall Sr. (born Florida)
Rowan Lafayette Wall (born Florida)
Rowan Wall (born S.C. maybe around Barnswell)
Elijah Wall (? maybe Barnswell S.C)
Hardy Wall (?)
Elijah Wall (?)
Gerard Wall (N.C. Walls 1760 - book)

My father was Emory Perry Wall Jr (born 9-25-1925 West Palm Beach, Fl ) son of Emory Perry Wall, son of Rowan Lafayette Wall. Rowan Lafayette Wall was the medicine man and missionary to the Seminole tribe as well as the Martin County Commisioner for 22 years. His sister was Mrs. Augusta Eliza Wall Preston (her daughters were Ruth Mann, Mrs Ed Kummer Jr, and her sons are Frank Preston of Brownsville, TX., Charles Preston of Crescent Beach, FL, Will Preston of Kissimmee, FL and Worth Preston of Palatka, FL.
I have a history of Elijah and Eliza and their land warrant in 1847 to Florida in the Santa Fe Lake region. My fathers seven children (Linda Lou, Emory Bernie, Kathalyn Ann, Melanie Fern, Lance Rutledge, Rita Lee, and April Joy) will be having a reunion at Kissimmee next may with my dad's brother Kenneth Wall of Indiatlantica, FL. We will meet our grown up cousins which I have not seen in years and some have never seen. My dad also had a half sister that was not a Wall, but a Rutledge from Boston but she shared their name.
Anyway let me know if you are interested in exchanging information. I know we are related and you have found a bunch more of us Wall kinfolk.

Obituary - Joseph Paul WALL (1893 - 1925)

  Iowa City Press Citizen
Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa
Aug 18, 1925

Hundreds Attend Services at St. Mary's Yesterday; Legion Figures Prominently in Tribute
Three victims of the dreadful tragedy west of Iowa City now sleep in hallowed ground. Slain in a moment by electricity, and mourned now by the community and the entire county, because of the horror that marked their sad fate, John and Paul Miller rest in St. Joseph's cemetery, Iowa City; and Joseph Wall in St. Bridget's cemetery, at Nolan Settlement.
As briefly reported herein last evening, the triple services were held at St. Mary's church, in Iowa City, Monday morning at 9 o'clock.
Military services were conducted for Mr. Wall, by his Legion brothers, the Stinocher Post, of Solon, playing a larger role in the sad drama. Chopek Post, Iowa City, was also conspicuous in the solemnities, as were the Iowa City Knights of Columbus.
Each of the young men was honored by his mourning fellow-citizens, in the appointment of six pallbearers.
The military exercises in memory of Mr. Wall were participated in by a sextet of World War comrades-four of the six being Stinocher Post members- Andrew Kessler, Ed Panzer, George Seroy, and Frank Steinbrech. The other two were John Rourke and John Kennedy. Stinocher Post, also contributed a firing squad, which fired a salute over Mr. Wall's grave at Nolan Settlement. As his body was lowered to its last resting place there, taps was sounded by two musicians of Chopek Post, Iowa City- Allen Wallen and Vincent Lalla.
The church services here were extraordinary in respect to the attendance. Fully 1500 people packed the beautiful cathedral like edifice and a third as many more could not gain entrance at St. Mary's.
Solemn requiem mass was celebrated impressively for all three young men, at St. Mary's here. The celebrant was Very Rev. A. J. Schulte, dean of the Iowa City deanery; the deacon, Very Rev. William P. Shannahan; sub-deacon, Rev. A.L. Panoch; master of ceremonies, Rev. George Volz; and the second master of ceremonies, Rev. Joseph Wagner. Other priests in the sanctuary were Rev. Father Maher, Nolan Settlement; Rev. Father Michalek, Solon; and Rev. Father Finefield, formerly of Oxford.
George W. WALL

I am researching a George W. Wall from Kensington in Philadelphia Pa. He was born in 1832. His parents were John and Catherine (nee Bauers). he was a carpenter and lived on Howard, Harrison, Richmond Streets near the Delaware River waterfront. He married 3 times, first to Julia Garheart, then to Deborah Hegerman, and finally to Mary Hegerman. He had a son named Theodore who married Mary Lena Sirch. They lived on Pratt St in Phila for many years. George W and all of his wives are buried in Greenwood K of P cemetery in Philadelphia.

I believe the father of John Wall (born circa 1792) was Henry Wall (born circa 1754). John was a pill box maker. His father Henry was a shoemaker in Kensington (North Kensington, in what was known as Ball town), Henry may have been related to a Casper Wall found in Philadelphia County tax lists of 1769. They may all be descendents of a Richard Wall who lived there in the 1680's and may have gotten a land patent from William Penn for whom the state of pennsylvania is named.

I'm looking for information regarding the parents of my ancestor, Elijah Wall. He moved from South Carolina to Florida in 1847. He was later a state representative in Florida from Putnam County. His father's name was Hardy (or Hardee) Wall of Barnwell District, SC. Elijah was orphaned, I believe, because there's a court document appointing a guardian for him and a brother as children. Any information to assist me in my search would be greatly appreciated.

I've managed to find three children who were born to them; Thomas, Hannah and William, all born at Coreley.

Their son William Wall about 1766 and he married Mary Withey in 1791 at Coreley. They had 8 children and lived at Greete Shropshire.

I would love to know more about Thomas Wall but I'm a bit stuck because of the lack of records. I was wondering if any one could help

Nicola

Your suspected ancestor was definitely "Frethias Wall", not "Mathias Wall". My 5th g-grandfather, Giles Parman Sr., was a co-executor of the will of Thomas Woolsey with Frethias Wall in Greene Co TN in the late 1790's. My 4th g-grandfather was Frethias Parman, whom we suspect to have been named after Frethias Wall, with whom Giles was perhaps closely acquainted. The first name "Frethias" is a unique one, and often mispelled. Wish I knew more to help.

Obituary - Wyndal Gene "Dink" WALL (d 4 Jan 2008)

not related - for board info

Wall, Wyndal Gene "Dink"

Wyndal Gene "Dink" Wall passed away peacefully of natural causes in his sleep at home on January 5, 2008. By his side was his childbride of 51 years, Patty. Dink grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Banning High School in 1953. He married Patty in 1956. He enjoyed the great years of "Goosetown" (Wilmington) and was often racing his motorcycle or '41 Ford on Avalon Blvd. He was the founding father of the first motorcycle club in Wilmington and he enjoyed long rides. It was not uncommon for Dad to meet other early 50's bikers on the road (a rare sight) only to find that they would pack up and move to Wilmington to live like the "wild one". He retired from Pac Bell in 1983 after 30 years as a telephone lineman in the Wilmington-Torrance area. His passions in life other than wife and family were his dogs, the mountains, hunting and his garden. He loved to deliver home-grown vegetables to folks all over Long Beach. He is survived by his wife, Patty; sons, Martin, John, Scott and Kelly; daughter, Kimberly; and brother, Richard. He had a dozen grandchildren and he was able to spend the Christmas holiday with them in his beloved mountains. It was his wish to not send flowers or make donations, as he would rather you take a moment to enjoy family and the great outdoors. This fine husband, father and grandfather will be missed. McKenzie Mortuary (562) 961-9301
Published in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on 1/9/2008.
We now have 5 men willing to participate in a DNA project for our Wall/Walls group. We need 6 to begin but would encourage more to join in. The more male WALL surnamed men that participate, the better the results. We are trying to find a common ancestor and this will do this for us. It will also tell us if we have one or more Wall lines that are not related and who belongs to which group.
If you are interested and want more information, go to:
www.familytreedna.com and surf that site.
If you are willing to join us in this effort, please contact me.

William John WALL - originally from Wales

I am trying to find birth/immigration/death/burial information on my grand-father William John Wall. Allegedly born on August 6, 1881-1884. The only date I have for certain is the marriage to Della Alice Kiersey on March 6, 1910 in Burnham, Illinois. I have a newspaper clipping supporting that date. William had three sisters - Mary, Elizabeth and Alice. Possibly part of his family including parents may have moved to Colorado as my aunt's family lived in Pueblo and my father enlisted in the US Navy from Denver in 1927.

WALL / MOLER / STAUBUS Family info - MO / IA

This is helpful for those related to Cora Luella Staubus & John Wall who married May 31, 1888 in Grant City, Worth, Missouri & eventually made their home in Taylor, Iowa. I'm always glad to exchange & share info. Have more available if interested. The Wall family didn't get to know much about their maternal side at that time period.

The daughter of Jacob T. Moler's & his wife: Mary Ann Cameron (b. 1815/OH) daughter Mary Alice Moler (b. Nov. 1856) married Fredrick Staubus (see below for details) & was suddenly widowed in 1878. A couple of years later the Staubus/Moler's 5 children were adopted out and Mary Alice Moler remarried & began another family in the same county of Worth, Missouri.

Does this ring any "Moler Bells" for anyone? I am looking for any info. on anyone mentioned in this posting & will be glad to share the info. I've been gathering also.

I'm also looking for info. on the Robert H. & Elizabeth Clark Mills family who adopted two Moler (mother's maiden name), Staubus (father's name) children ancestors of mine when their father was killed in Worth County Missouri.

In the 1870 Census of FLETCHALL TOWNSHIP Worth Co.
1760, Edgecombe Co.: Garrard WALL, Elijah WALL, Hardy WALL, etc

I want to contact descendants of NC Edgecombe County Gerrard Wall who married Rachael Screws. He died in 1760/61. If you descend from Gerrard's children:
Dorset Wall, Elijah Wall, Moses Wall, James Wall, Martha or Charity, please contact me at (Paula) pfabionar@yahoo.com.
Dorcet Wall(d1760/61) and James Wall(d1780);each left two daughters.
Elijah (d1760) left a son Hardy and a son Elisha, and wife Ann. Moses died soon before Dorcet, and I do not know of any children of Moses.
In Elijah's will it states:"Son Hardy-Wall 90 ac. plantation whereon Sarah Wall did live where Elijah Wall now lives. (I believe the Sarah mentioned here is Sarah Fort Wall, widow of John Wall of Edgecombe. Sarah wrote a will in 1754 (probated in 1756) to children: John (d1779), Henry, Arthur, and daughter Faithe..(witnessed by Henry, Elizabeth and Sehon Horn).
Is Garrard (Gerrard) Wall brother to John Wall (and Sarah Fort Wall)of Edgecombe? They may be sons of James Wall who is the son of Joseph Wall of Surry VA. If someone has a direct male line descendant, we can answer this question.
pfabionar@yahoo.com

Best Regards,
Sincerely,
Paula Fabionar
(researching descendants of Joseph Wall/Pittman of Surry County Va)
My 67 marker DNA repesentative is Lonnie Mack Wall of Jonesboro Arkansas, descending from Mark Wall (@1740) of Nash County NC.

WALL Family: Co. Cork, Ireland > London, England > Illinois, USA

Is anyone tracing Irish Wall families from along the Cork-Limerick border?

Edmund Wall (aka Edward, Edwin) and Honora Kennedy were married before about 1835, probably in County Cork. I suspect both the Wall and Kennedy families lived very close to the Cork-Limerick border; family stories mention Drewscourt, located on the Limerick side of that border in the civil parish of Corcomohide. Stories from the same source also state that Edmund died while on his way to London to find work; his ship went aground on the treacherous sand banks off Deal known as the Goodwin Sands. He may have died aboard the "Gazelle" of Liverpool; it was reported lost, along with all aboard, in the London Times on 3 Dec 1850. The timing of other family events suggests his death happened about this time.

By 1851, widow Honora (Kennedy) Wall and her four children were living in London with her older sisters Mary and Alice Kennedy. The unmarried Kennedy sisters died, probably in London, sometime after 1861; Honora Wall died on 5 Jan 1880 at St. George's [Hanover Square] Union Infirmary in London.

Edmund and Honora Wall had at least 4 children:

1) Mary Wall - b. abt 1835 Co. Cork, Ireland; d. 3 May 1922 Morris, Grundy County, Illinois, USA; buried Mount Carmel Cemetery, Morris, Grundy County, Illinois.
m1. Daniel Flanagan on 3 May 1858 at the Royal Bavarian RC Chapel, St. James Westminister, Middlesex County, (London), England; emigrated to the US 1874 and settled in Illinois; at least 6 known children.
m2. Albert Horn abt. 1906, probably in Grundy County, Illinois, USA. No known children.

2) Patrick or John Wall - b. abt 1838 Co. Cork, Ireland; Patrick listed with family in 1851 census (shoemaker); his whereabouts after that are unknown. Family story gives his name as John but no further details.

3) Anna Wall - b. abt 1843 Co. Cork, Ireland; listed with her family in 1851 census; her whereabouts after that are unknown. Not mentioned in family stories.

4) Ellen Philomena Wall - b. abt 1849 Co. Cork, Ireland;
m1. Nathaniel Thomas Henderson on 31 Oct 1880 at St. James the Great (Church of England), Bethnal Green, London, Middlesex County, England; no known children.
m2. Edward James Barry on 18 Jul 1885 at Grundy County, Illinois, USA. One known child by that marriage - Catherine (b. 1886), source of family stories.

Please contact me to compare notes if you think there is a connection.

Thomas Wall Rhode Island Late 1700s

Thomas Wall, a taylor, married Patience Arnold 1770 or earlier. They purchased land in Glocester, Rhode Island in 1772. Through various deeds and census records, they were in Glocester through at least 1793. A daughter, Patience, was recorded at the Smithfield Society of Friends in 1771. Caleb was another son identified through a deed. The census records suggest Thomas had a large family. The IGI shows several children born from 1770 through 1792, with specific dates. What is the source of the names and birthdates of the other children? Who were the parents of Thomas?
