Surnames: Wallace, McNeelage, Doherty, Freeman
My paternal grandfather was James Richard Wallace. Said to be born June 30, 1879 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He was the son of David Wallace & Jessie McNeelage (McNeilage). He had a sister Sarah who married John Doherty on Dec. 18, 1917 at Ebrington in the parish of Glendermott, County of Derry.

James Richard married my grandmother, Adelaide Maud Freeman, October 13, 1909 in St. Thomas Church, St. Thomas Mount, Tamil Nadu, India. James & Adelaide had 2 children -Frederick Charles (13.8.1910) & Richard Edward (5.1.1912). James enlisted into the Royal Field Artillery, joined at Glasgow, on March 20, 1900. Served in India Dec. 14, 1900-Oct. 9, 1912; Aden Oct. 10, 1912 - Dec. 9, 1913; France Oct.4, 1914-Sept.21, 1913 & May 11, 1918-Mar.11, 1920. Discharged at his own request on April 22, 1920. Looking for any connections to this particular Wallace family.

My father remembered living with his Aunt Sarah & Grandmother at Alexandra Place, Londonderry. He stated that it was near the river & at the base of a hill or incline.

Any help would be appreciated.
