wallen family of kentucky and Indiana
I am looking for information on my great grandmother family her name is Edna Wallen she was born Oct 6, 1871 and died August 7,1942.She married Aaron Burchett on Sept. 4 1898 in Clonton County Kentucky. I know my Burchett side was from Clinton County Kentucky, but I don't know where the Wallen's is from.
In Edna's bible their are four Wallen's listed they are Willey K Wallen born August 4,1887
Francis J Wallen born August 18, 1889
E.C. Wallen born Oct 1891
Sarah M Wallen died Sept 1891
The bible does tell me how they are related. If this rings any bells please let me know.
Also in my grandmothers bible I found two obits for two Wallen's and I don't know how they are related to me.
The first is William Vernon Wallen 70, of 2206 S. 14th St.
Wallen a native of Clinton County Kentucky and retired from Chrysler Corp in 1974 with 46 years of service.Surviors included his wife Flossie and a step son Walter Bell of Orlando FL. Two brothers Ira Wallen of South Bend and Arnold P Wallen of Sulphur Springs:two sisters Mrs. Emma Jones of Dayton OH and Ima jean Ledbetter of Muncie, four grandchildren, one great granddaughter.
The other one I think is his other brother.
Johnny Wallen 71, Glasgow KY
Survivors include eight daughters Mrs. Rose Thorp in Indianapolis, Mrs. Jasper (Velma) Penticuff of New Castle, Mrs. Vesta Carlton and Mrs. Jimmy (vetta) Guffy of Petersburg VA, Mrs Elsie Andrews of Kokomo, Mrs William (Jean) Melton and Mrs Jesse (Ruth) Goodman both of Albany KY. Three sons Willie L of Sulphur Springs, Hansford of Mooreland and Charles Ray of Albany KY.
Two sisters Mrs. Emma Jones of Ohio, and Mrs. Ima Ledbetter of Muncie and Five brothers Thomas, Robert, and Vernon all of New Castle, Arnold of Middletown and Ira Of South Bend.
Both of these obits were cut out of the New Castle Indiana paper but she didn't put the date on them.
I am also looking for another Wallen who is Jane Wallen she married a Mcguire and I think live most of her life in Wayne county Kentucky.
If anyone can help me that would be great.
Thank you
Eva
