Family of Robert Walters of Baltimore, MD

I am searching for information on the family and descendants of Robert Walters born in 1879 in Baltimore to Peter and Sarah Lainhart Walters. Robert was living in Baltimore in 1930 married to Beulah and had a son Robert C. Walters who was born in 1910. Robert Sr. was working as an embalmer for a funeral home and his son was listed as single and occupation as a "driver". Robert Sr. was the younger brother of my great-grandfather Joseph E. Walters, born in 1859 and died in 1930. Joseph was a machinist for the B&O Railroad shop at Mt Clair and later for the Naval Gun Factory at the Washington Navy Yard. Devonchem@aol.com

I am looking for a CHARLES WALTERS born in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pa in 1900/1901, who was nicknamed "Whitey".

I've found a Charles Walters born abt 1901 in the 1910 Census for West Taylor Township, Cambria County, PA: parents are John A. Walters and Mariah/Maria Goughnour and siblings are Florence M. and Harry I. Cannot find mother Mariah/Maria or son Charles in the 1920 Census. I found the parents' tombstones in the Headrick Cemetery in Cambria County so I know the father, John, died in 1920 and the mother died in 1943 (she appears in the 1930 Census for West Taylor Township, living with married daughter Florence Clevenger. I really would love to find her son Charles (or any other Charles Walters born 1900/1901 in Johnstown, PA!)

If anyone has information that might connect to John and Susan Walters, I would greatly appreciate your sharing it with me. John and Susan were both born in Georgia; John about 1811 and Susan about 1817. I can find nothing on them until about 1845 when their first son, George was born, in Ashford, Henry County, Alabama. Web sites say that they both died in Henry County, Alabama, but I can find no death records or cemetary listing. I do not know where in Georgia (County) they were from, what Susan's maiden name was, who their parents were, or where their parents were from..... I would appreciate any ideas, advice, information... Thank you. Charlie Walters, CMW1@aol.com.

I am searching for info on my grandfather. He died in 1949. He was from Dade County, Florida and I think he is descended from the Texas Walters. He was in the Army and he died in Louisville, Ky. He was probably in his early 30's when he died. He married Ethel Odom from SC and they had on son on 11/17/43. His name is Jerry Caleb Walters. If you have any info on this please let me know. I have been searching for months. I do not know any of my Walters relatives except my father and my brothers and sisters.
Thanks!

John Walters, Katherine (Kener) Elliott Walters

Hi,
I am looking for info on my family. John Walters was born around 1871 and Katherine was born 1878. I know that Katherine moved to Florida? Not sure when but, she died in 1973. My grandfather (John and Katherine's son Caleb Powers Walters) died in 1948 from a cerebral accident? He was 34 years old. Caleb served in WWII and he died in the VA hospital in Louisville, KY. It does not state on his death certificate what caused the head injury. It is very confusing. On Caleb's death certificate it has John as deceased by 1948. I have found the family on the census' records but, I do not know who John's parents are or Katherine's so I cannot go back any further. Everything I find has them around Knox county, Whitley Co, Woodbine and Williamsburg. If you have any info I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help. Teresa Walters Woods

Thanks for the input!
Franklin M. Walters served in the 15th GA Vol Infantry Regiment and was captured at Gettysburg July 3rd 1863, were he was on July 2nd in Devil`s Den. He was unhurt, by the way. He was sent to Ft.Mc Henry in Baltimore POW Camp and after a few days was trfd to Peaa Patch Island, DE from where he was paroled at the end of the War. He was given a train ticket and rations for the trip to his home of record, which was Parkers Store, Hall County VA to his family. His wife was Eliza O`Barr. He was b.1830 & d. 1871.
He shares a head-stone with his father John C Walters,1785 d. 1858, his Grandfather Peter Walters b. 1755 d. 1832 & his Grt Grandfather Robert Walters SR b. Scotland 1732 d. 1794. Grave is at Big Creek Shoals Babtist Church very near the old Walters Homestead (600) acres mentioned in Robert Srs Will. Pic was taken last year by a friend (on-line) David W. Reed of Idaho. Thanks DAVID! I have more old family photos if anyone wants one, just ask..Merkel Walters mertiger2@comcast.net A little known fact is as a young man of 22 Robert Walters Sr. to-be Sr. joined the 7th Company of the Virginia Regiment under Capt. Joshua Lewis. He served from Jan 07, 1754 to Oct 8, 1756. He is described as being 22 years old. 5`7" in height, reddish complexion, reddish hair.
Mary Walters Umberger

Mary Walters was born approximately 1782 in Montgomery County, VA. She married Henry Umberger/Umbarger of Wythe County (formed 1790 from Montgomery County) before or in 1800, probably same place, but doesn't appear in marriage records. She died about 1803, a few years after the birth of her only child, Jonas. Henry remarried Elizabeth (Betsy) King. My question: Mary was supposedly the daughter of Michael Walters of Wythe County, a Revolutionary patriot, as was his son by the same name. I have not been able to find any trace of documented connection between them. Since she died before her father, she doesn't appear in his will. I have a list of 12 children of Michael Walters by his wife Catherine Barbara Krieger (Creger), but got that from a book with no references. My only clue is a deed indenture in 1823 in which Jonas sells to his father and his wife all his rights as heir to Michael Walters property in the Stone Mill tract (where Michael is buried). Poor Mary is not even mentioned. Does anyone have any information that would help me establish the lineage of Mary to Michael Walters? I appreciate all help.

I am looking for any information on Florence Walters, my great grandmother.. She was born March 23, 1903. I have no information for her parents, or any siblings. She married William G. Peacock, born November 01, 1902. I'm not sure what year they were married. They had at least one child, my grandfather, William G. Peacock, Jr.

I am pretty sure she was born in Baltimore, MD, and she died in Norfolk, VA.

I have looked in the census records, but it is like she didn't exsist. The only record I have been able to find for her is her death record on the Social Security Death Index.

Thank you so much if anyone has any help to offer!

I am looking for any information on John Walter(s), born (as Walter) in 1849 in Shepton Mallet, Somersetshire, England. He married Ellen Applebee in 1872 and moved to Tallmadge, OH in 1880. John died in 1899, and is buried in Tallmadge.
I know of 8 children by John and Ellen. The males were named: Darwin, Herbert, Albert and Ernest. Ernest died in 1899. I do not know the names of the female children.
I know that John became a naturalized citizen in 1886 and still retained the surname Walter. The surname became Walters in 1899 by his children after his death.
I am especially looking for information prior to his coming to the United States. I cannot find anything prior to 1880 except the marriage date.
Any information you could provide would be apprieciated.
Thank you, Richard Walters.
Many have asked me to the data appearing in many places on the Net for Robert Walters Waters and Frances Norton. With the help of the Virginia Historical Society I have in hand a clear copy of the Bristol Parish Register, Prince George Co. VA which lists the birthdate of Frances as "June the lst 1760," to parents Thomas and Agness Norton.
Hope this helps. I expect to document Robert shortly as the son of John Waters. In the case of Robert the Register is less certain. Bill Walters

William and Elizabeth Walters 1850 Jones Co Ms

William and Elizabeth Walters 1850 Jones Co Ms
William Walters (b abt 1821) and wife Elizabeth (b abt 1820) are found on Jones Co Ms census of 1840, 1850 and 1860. Pike Co Ms in 1870 and Rapides Parrish La in 1880.
I have found on the net that Elizabeth's maiden name is Smith. If this is so, I have a suspicion that Elizabeth's parents are Lewis and Catherine Smith found on the 1830 through 1850 Jones Co census.
Lewis and Catherine both show born in Ga.
There is a Lewis Smith and Catherina Youngblood who were married in Clarke Co Al in 1817.
There is a Lewis Smith found on the 1820 Appling Co Ga census and the ages fit for this family with their first daughter. I think Catherine's parents were in the Clarke Co Al area when they were married and they then went to his family area in Ga and moved to Jones Co by 1830.
My connection is through William and Elizabeth Walters daughter Dorcas Ann who married Joseph French about 1875.
I am also decended from Elijah Walters / Winnifred Prine of Jones Co.
Any information on William and Elizabeth will be appreciated.
rgoss

He was later found in the lower portion of Belmont Co in Washington twp. He appears to have had at least two son: James, born ca 1802 Oh, who married lst to Margaret Hesson in 1821 and 2nd to Phebe Sutton in 1847, and Adam Walters, born ca 1810 Oh, who married Eve Miller in 1839. Some of these people moved into neighboring Monroe Co Oh and probably elsewhere.

Ella Walters, Chicago, pre-1940s husband George Walters

Looking for Ella Walters who lived at 5716 S. Morgan Street in Chicago in 1936. Her husband was George Walters. On the 1930 census they were listed with Nicholas Trinen at 536 79th Street Place. George was 70, listed as "C. George Walters" and it says he was 53 when first married. He was born in England. Ella was 52 and her first marriage took place when she was 17 so this must have been her second marriage. It says she was born in Illinois and her parents in Sweden. It says George was Trinen's brother-in-law and Ella was his sister-in-law, which tells me Trinen's wife must have been sister to either George or Ella. Trinen's wife is not on the census. Trinen is 63 and married at 43. He's from Indiana and his parents from Germany. George may have died between 1930 and 1936. I'm trying to determine who Ella's family was. She may have been an Anderson, but not sure.

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 30 July 1903, Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

KILLED IN THE JAIL

Two Wyoming Murderers Filled Full of Cold Lead

Cheyenne, Wyoming: At Basin, the count seat of Big Horn County, early J. P. Walters and James Gorman, murderers who had been sentenced to death, but who had been granted respites pending the hearing of the case in the supreme court, were shot to death by a mob of twenty-five cowboys. Deputy Sheriff E. Price was killed and Deputy Sheriff George S. Mead wounded.

The lynchers rode into town on horses and before demanding the murderers, fired a volley of shots through the doors and windows of the jail. Price and Mead were sitting in the sheriff's office in the dark and both fell at the first fire. The mob battered down the doors, but could not open the cellhouse. Gorman and Walters were in cells facing the entrance, however, and it was an easy matter to fill them full of lead. Walters died instantly, but Gorman lived five hours.

A mother's love is not measured by how many gifts, kisses, hugs, advice, or how many times she tells you she loves you...It is a lot deeper and is beyond human comprehension.
I am still looking for any info on Walters family members. I have found a bit more on Maggie (Walters) Gaugh, but as it seems with a lot of people trying to trace this line is very very difficult. I am including a pic of who we think is William Jasper Walters whose father was Joseph Walters. Mother was Margaret (Burkhart) Walters. Brothers included Liberty Walters and Nelson Walters. William J's children were Mary Josephine (Walters) Bowers, Margaret (Walters) Gaugh, Robert ? Walters, Dora Walters and Rebecca (Walters) Stringer. Mary Josephine Walters m Timothy Bowers and had Margaret Francis Bowers, William Oron Bowers, Lucy Bowers and Bertha Bowers. Margaret Walters m William Gaugh and had Rufus, Grover, Floyd, Alfred, Nora and Charles Gaugh. I have found some of the Gaughs. There isn't much info left that we have. Please if anyone knows anything more please let me know!!!!!

Some family trees seem to have them related or even the same people; others have told me that it is unlikely (for the era and distance between northern and southern areas of Virginia) that they were related.

Anyone with insight or knowledge about this??

To whom it may concern:
I am researching this line because of possible connections to my ancestor, John Arant and Richard Arant and Elijah Arant. I have been studying all volumes of deeds page by page of the originals. I have completed volume 1 and 2 (1200 pages of the first deeds of UNION Co, NC which was created in 1842) and I have begun volume 3. These early deeds also mention early grants and land ownership from 1815 as well.
I found some interesting and exciting information on this branch of the Elijah Walters family. PLEASE contact me if you know about this line.....hmarshville@aol.com

I would like to share what I have found and ask some questions about Joshua and Asa.

Sincerely,
Julie
