I am looking to get in touch with a descendant of Joseph Leander (b 1850) & Amanda. Their children include: Millie, Lonnie, Joseph, Jessie. I am looking for information on Roy Waltrip (b 1905) possible grandson? Roy's mother is Josephine Mae Boyaur (Boyier). She was either working for or adopted by this Waltrip family. The 1900 census for Township 7 of Choctaw nation has her listed as a servant. I do not know if she married a Waltrip or if she was adopted by a the Waltrip thus giving Roy the Waltrip last name. I am also looking for any information on Josephine Mae Boyaur (Boyier/Boyer).

Burroughs Allen Waltrip Sr. m. Jessie Anna Belle Johnson on 12/12/1926

I am the grandson of Burroughs Allen Waltrip Sr. He was married to Jessie Anna Belle Johnson on 12/12/1926. He left her and their two small sons to run away with a female evangelist named Kathryn Kuhlman. Than had a church called the Radio Chapel in Mason City, IA. They were married for a short time, but the congregation disapproved of the marriage. She eventually divorced him. He left the ministry, and wrote 2 short books. He then became a salesman selling concrete liners for caskets. That was in Kansas City, MO or KS. That is the last our family has been able to discover. He is my grandfather, and would like to know what happened to him.

Dear Brother,
Burroughs Allen Waltrip Sr. is in heaven. Attacks from enemies can not change the fact that he gave his life to Jesus and served Him. He was true to his feelings and by standing in his truth he had hurt many people. Jesus had caused your grandfather to divorce Kathryn Kuhlman in 1948 (reference taken from Jamie Buckingham book pages 120 & 121 on the only authorized biography of Kathryn Kuhlman published by Bridge Logos 1999)
It is wanting to be united with the body of Christ in spirit plus distances while preaching gospel away from home and your grandmother caused him to felt in love with another woman.
I pray that generation curses be broken in you and your family in Jesus name. What you grandfather did wrong can not affect you and your family. Leave what had happen between him and his family to God. Churches judges this servant of God while he had gave his life and even his family to serve God's people. You grandfather was an extraordinary man. He stands in his true while many abuses their wives and have mistresses secretly. Leave the wrong in his life to God.
God bless you! Jesus love stays in your family always!
Love in Christ,
sister
My gr grandma raised me .and she and her sister married bros Grant and James I'm from and Jerry is from James there Father was John married to a woman named Mellon. This kast info came from a mr Warren Glen he sent me I think 1242 entries on the waltrips. As I was going thru these I noticed he had a Henery Waltrip borned to James and Cordila , now they had a son by that name but not borned in California. Do you know if you have a Henery in your back ground . I don't personally know Jerry but I gather he lives in Calif. So maybe he knew somebody out there or was borned there his self. I have a photo of Grant as a young man ,if you will send me your e mail I will send it to you and also give you Glenn Warren's e mail, and he maybe can help you a lot .You are right about Parsons ,not being far from Coffeyville and strange ,I have 2 cousins living there now that was borned in Coffeyville. Do you know if you are related to the race car drivers bobby@pflash.com

Right or wrong? Henery and George and Walter are the only ones I remember. George died when I was real young ,but I remember him being sick. I've in touch with some of the Landrums if you are interested I can send you Email address of Aunt Victoria's grandson. Iam told that Cory And grandma's , grandma Last name was Flowers before she married a Montgomery in Rome Ga. and that she was full blod cherokee and was killed by union soldiers in Rome.Enjoyed hearing from you seen your father's day photo. Do you have any photos of Cory and James that you could scan me I have one of Grant and some of Grandma but not taken together. Thank You Eldeania Henderson (DEANIA)

You know Mr. glenn I never believed that one either. But you sure gave me a lot of info. on the Waltrips. That is the Grant Waltrip ,that was married to Mittie Landrum . It's12116-12117 --fams621. there is one more child to add to that marriage .Name Archie Lee Daniel Waltrip borned 1909 Grove, Okla. death coffeyville,Kan.Robbins cemetary. Grace Hines death in Wichita, kans. maggie {margurette] Merton --Eli Jack waltrip death Nowater nurseing home 1957 all of them are buried in Coffeyville at Robbins cemetary. I woul love to have copy of Grant and Mittie's Marriage Licenses. Mittie was my greatgrandma she raised me. Also I found Cordilla and her children she was Mitties sister they married brothers I called her aunt Cory Henery , Walter ,George,James and I thought she had 1 called wesley. I don't remember what aunt Cory's husbands name was, I never met him but this group lived at the last in South Coffeyville. it's on the state lineof kan. and okla.but it is in okla. nowater county. So those 2 lines are double cousins.
Burroughs A Waltrip Sr was born on Sept 18, 1903 in Pyburn, TX. I have traced him to Iowa in 1953. He was also in Kansas City, MO or KS in the early 1940's. He was no longer a minister. He was selling the concrete liners for caskets for burials. He also wrote to small books. If you have anymore information than this, I would greatly appreciate it. He is my grandfather.

Re: Mattie Waltrip

My father was Norman Leroy Waltrip. His father was Roy Waltrip of Chicago Ill. Roy had two other sons by another wife after my father was born. I can't remember their names at the moment. My father was born in Chicago, but later moved to Parsons, KS. That's not so far from Coffeville, KS. But, so far as I know there are no other members of our family in the southeast KS area. Now, I am seeing Deanna and Jerry, who seem to be from that area. I am wondering if our family trees cross somewhere.

Our family moved from Parsons to southern California in 1956, when I was eight years old. My dad worked for the KATY railroad in Parsons. He left because he heard in advance there would be layoffs, which there were after he left.

I would be very interested to have any information about Waltrip families which anyone may be kind enough to forward. I want to start my own family tree. Any support would be much appreciated.

I have heard that there were four original brothers who came over from Europe on the same boat. I have also heard that the name has both German and Dutch roots. I have wondered if the name was altered when they came to America. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Thanks Very Much for any information anyone out there can share.

Bob Waltrip

Deanna,

Of all the names you mentioned, Glenn Waltrip jumps out at me. That is the name of one of my father's half-brothers. I could not remember it before. I think my mother told me recently that Glen had called in the last three to four years. I think she said he mentioned doing some genealogy.

Yes, I would like to have any information on Waltrips. My E-mail is robwal48@hotmail.com. I look forward to receiving the list of names you offered to forward. I will talk to my mom this weekend about the other names you mentioned in your message.

Thanks so much,

Bob Waltrip

Hi Jerry,

My mother was a Waltrip. I have seen on MyFamily.com a complete lineage of the Waltrips back to the family that you mentioned on this board. This is my family line, too. What I am interested in is the documentation for the line leading back to the Waldroppers (sic)! Do you have any of this documentation or the source where I may go to obtain such? My line (that I have documentation for) starts with John (b. 1836).

Thanks, Richard

MO (Thomas Travis Crockett)
Sarah Ann 1830 Clay Co., MO

What I am really looking for, is proof of this connection, you see Howard was married twice and his second wife was also named Sarah (Abner). It seems that the dates of their marriage (to the second Sarah) conflict with the dates of the births of their children. Unless he was having an affair with the second Sarah while still married to the first Sarah. The second Sarah's children all went by the last name of Everett and the first was born in 1850 before the first Sarah passed away. Records show that the second Sarah and Howard Everett were married 11 Jun 1860 in Clay Co., MO.

1860 Census of Clay County, Missouri, Fishing River TWP.
Howard is listed as a farmer with a wife named Sarah, two sons named Abner James (born 1840), Everett Albert (born 1842), but these are not children of the first Sarah (Waltrip).
Where did they come from? Were they adopted or foster
children?

Please, I do need some proof of the union between Sarah Waltrip and Howard Everett.

You can email me directly at retiredgophers@aol.com or
retiredgophers@yahoo.com.
Sonnie Everett Nelson
