Charles P. Wandell Mary Kate Cunningham were md in Tampa, Hillsborough Co, FLA in Dec 1871. Moved to Texas where they had four sons, Charles, J. Claude, Solon Brown, and Simon Wandell. Mary Kate died in childbirth abt 1879-1880 with Simon, who was given to a Jennings family to raise. Other boys were sent back and forth to Jacksonville, FLA to uncle John England Wandell until they were finally placed in an orphanage in Tuscaloosa, ALA. Charles ran away; J. Claude died of typhoid fever; and Solon Brown Wandell (my gf) was adopted at the age of 6 yrs. by John Swasey Chiles wife Eugenia Martinier Sanborn of Moundville, ALA, and they changed his name to Herbert Sanborn Chiles. Very interested in finding this family in Texas and in locating burial place or death record of Mary Kate Cunningham Wandell. Any help would be appreciated.
