Just to correct the previous message. I have made excellent contact with Brad Wappat, of Oneonta, NY who is the great grandson of William Wappat, who emigrated to the US in 1865, from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
William's son Robert David was the only child of four to have a child, Robert David, of whom all the US Wappat's are decended.
