Thank you for writing back. On further exploration I am thinking that Hans might not be my relative after all. I say this because I seem to have come across a date that Charles (his father) came from Germany and that is where my discrepancy turned up. The Charles Wappler I am working on was born in 1858 at Copper Falls, Michigan. I already know what happened to all my Charles' siblings (his oldest brother, Henry, is my great-grandfather) and they were all born in Michigan. Their father (my g-g-grf), Gottlieb Wappler, was born in Germany/Prussia ca. 1826 but I have no confirmed information on him before he married in 1852 at Copper Falls (ghost town w/not much evidence left in current day Keweenaw County). It is possible our Wappler's are related, but I am not sure how. There is another researcher who might be closer related on the Wappler board - she has at least found information from "the old country" (Prussia/Poland) whereas I have nothing. I wish I had more information for you as I was hoping this was my relative. I think my post was from 3 years ago and there is no way to remove it so I wanted to reply all the more for you. My grandfather was Hans Wappler. All I know about him is that he was born in Chicago, and died about 1965 in Ludington MI. His wife was the former Dorothy Mucha, and he had 2 children, my father Robert Wappler, born in 1923, and a younger daughter, Joan. I believe she is still alive and living in the Ludington area. Her husband is Dan Firzlaff. If you have any info about Hans' parents, and when they came to the US, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Looking for information on Hans Wappler, born to Charles Wappler and Hedwig (Hattie) Ufer Wappler in Chicago in 1892. SSDI says that Hans died in Michigan in 1965 - but I do not know what town. This line is from Gottlieb Wappler ca.1826/7/8 - 1868 (Keweenaw County, Michigan). I am trying to work my way through this family in hopes of uncovering an original birthplace (all that is known is Germany) for Gottlieb. I am not 100% sure that Hans is a relative as his father, Charles', information has not been entirely documented - in other words, I am extrapolating possible scenarios. Any help is appreciated. My sister, technically 1/2 sister, is looking for her fathers side of the family I have a little but can't get to much more, her father was Martin Sherman Wappler, Grandfather Martin Ewald Wappler, Great Grandfather Gustav Ewald Wappler.
I know that my step father had a brother Ron, last known residence was Washington State. She has lost all contact with the family and would love to build her tree, the family came from Germany in 1926/27 but since then have hit a dead end any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Have you per chance ever heard of a concerned called Wapler Medical? It was on a tag on an old electric motor. I can't see a manufacturer going to the trouble of tagging a single motor for a doctor.

My great grandfather was Louis Wappler. He married Katherine Winter. My grandmother was their oldest child. Emma, Louise, and Charles were their other children.

Hi, I am looking for information on Louis Wappler, born sometime around 1853 in Germany. He immigrated to St. Louis Missouri where he married Katherine Winter (also from Neustadt, Germany). Our family search dead ends with them. I know of one daughter,Emma Fredericka Wappler, born 17 Oct 1876 in St. Louis, she was married and then divorced, and then married to Charles Gilbert Linsley (born 21 Feb 1874 in Green River, WY). Your paternal grandmother was the sister of my father in law's father. My father in law is named Joe Eckhardt Wappler.He is 80 years old and lives in Port Arthur, Texas.His parents were Max Fred and Emma Moerbe Wappler.Max,your grandmother's brother,died in 1950 and his wife Emma died in 1954.My mother in law,Anita Hulda Zoch Wappler,tells me she remembers your grandmother attending Max or Emma's funeral. This is my paternal grandmother. DOB 9/6/1886 DOD12/21/1952 Married Paul Otto Franz Schneider in or around Travis county, Austin, Texas on 7/26/1905. They had 13 children. My father never knew much about his mothers family. He is now deceased and his sibblings are dieing off the younger ones know little or nothing about their mother's family. I would like to know my other relatives that for whatever reason have been kept from us.

I am searching for any information on my paternal grandmother and her family. Her name was Lena Augusta Wappler, born on 9/6/1886, place unknown,died-10/21/1955. She married Paul Otto Franz Schneider, in I believe Travis County, in or around Austin Texas on 7/26/1905. Issue 13 children from 1905-1930. Any info will help.
