Surnames: ward,rogers,gillaspy.boyd.jackson.owen,moon,knight

My g-g-grandfather was John Henry Ward, who came to Texas with his mother and brothers and sisters in 1863 after his father died in the battle of Shiloh. John Henry settled in Henderson Co., Texas. Do you know who his parents are? The only information I have is that his father might be James Ward got it off his death record. Leonard Ward his son was my gg grand father and His daughter Eula may Ward was my grand mother and Loyd earl Ward was my father. I have found no evidence of this lineage and am searching for anyone who knows. Thank you for your help.
