Simeon Warford, Estill Co. KY, b. 1788 NC

I am interested in finding out what I can about Simeon Warford. I have seen him listed as a son of Abraham Warford and Nancy Skinner (Owen?). He is living next to Abraham in the 1820 Estill County, KY census with Simeon having a wife and three children, 1 male and 2 female under 10. He is said to have married around 1809, but I have been unable to find a record of that marriage. I assume it is in KY somewhere. Simeon does not appear in the 1810 Estill Co census though his father does. Does anybody know anything more? Simeon is said to be the father of four other sons with Lucinda Lamb, the last of which, Sylvester, is born in 1854, in Madison Co, KY so Simeon obviously died after that. In the 1850 Madison Co census, Simeon appears with just a wife Mary; They both are listed as 62 years old. I cannot find him in the 1860 census so I assume Simeon died between 1854 and 1860. Any help would be appreciated.
bio piece on Joseph Warford 1711-1774

He was born in Middleton,Monmouth Co,NJ and died in Warferdsburg,Bethel Twp,Bedford Co, PA
April 7,1737-entered 100 acres of land in Bucks Co, PA in what is now Nockamixon twp, where they continued to live until about 1743 when because of the influx of German settlers in the township they were forced to move back across the Delaware river to Bethlehem twp, Hunterdon co, NJ
January 17,1744- Joseph purchased 618 acres on the Pohatcong Creek in Greenwich twp, Morris county NJ where they continued to live until 1747 operating a tavern there in 1746 & 1747.From 1748 through the 1750's he is believed to have lived in Pennsylvania, probably in chester county.By 1761 he was living in Maryland where in the same year he perfected a bond there with Captain Evan Shelby for 165 lbs. and payable in 1763 of which bond he paid part and refused to pay any more of it.(May 6,1765; newpaper extracts,New Jersey Colonial Documents, page 530) On May 18,1763 he entered 150 acres of land in what was then Cumberland Co( now Fulton),PA. during his residency in Frederick County Maryland,he was one of the Magistrates(Commission for Peace) and kept an Ordinary in Tonoloway Hundred. He kept this position until November 1,1766 when it was agreed to keep him out of the next commission by reason of him being illiterate and keeping an Ordinary, which was not a person properly qualified to be a Magistrate. It was the prevailing opinion of the neighborhood that his wife, Elizabeth acted as Justice instead of him, for it was said they fare best, who pay their court to her first.
1767-moved across the state line into Ayr Twp, Cumberland County,Pa (later Bethel twp, Bedford( now Fulton) Co. On March 2,1771 he made his will in which he left all of his land to his sons, proved January 10,1775(Book 1,page 11)

New infor on Maude Burgin Warford

Maude's father was William L. Burgin, b. Dec. 1844. Her mother, to the best of my knowledge, was Rosie J. (no last name yet), b. Mar 1848. They had three children Zena, b. 1881, Maude, b. 1884, and Fred, b. 1887. Fred eventually moved to Indiana and is buried there. In 1850 William and Rosie lived in the Goodnight District of Anderson County, Kentucky according to the census of that year. In 1920 William L. was living with Maude and her husband Charles Warford in the Van Buren District of Anderson County, Kentucky. At that time William was around 70 years old. Any
help on these family members would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

In 1920 they lived in Van Buren,
Anderson County, Kentucky. According to the 1920 census he lived with Maudie and her husband Charles Warford and was about 70 or 75 years old. That is all I know about them. Maudie and Charles had two children, Corrine Warford and L. C. Warford. Corrine was b. 2 Nov 1911 and d. 7 Jan 1975. She married Roswell Adams and had one living child and one still born. Corrine and Roswell were my grandparents. Maudie and Charles were my great grandparents. L. C. married a women named Virginia and they had 3 boys and one girl. That is the extent of what I know for sure.

bio piece on John Warford 1650-1699

John Warford was born in England and came to the colonies before the year 1680. On November 9,1680 the inhabitants of Eastchester,Westchester Co, NY gave and granted 3 acres to John Warford for a home lot upon the condition that he build and inhabit it for 3 years. He did not inhabit it for three years.
On January 16,1682 he came into possession of 31 acres of land in the limits of the Eastchester patent called Salisbury Plain. He was now a Freeholder and in the same year he married Mrs. Abigail (Pinckney)
Osborn, widow of David Osborn who died in 1679 leaving three children; Abigail, Richard and Sarah Osborn.
This same year John moved off his land and moved onto the land of his wife's former husband.
November 20.1684- he gave bond with Anise Veale, widow of John Veale, who died intestate.
1684-It is believed that he married his second wife, Mary Veale, possibly the daughter of John and Mary Veale
April 26,1686--Phillip Pinckney the guardian and grandfather of the Osborn children forewarns John Warford not to live in the David Osborn dwelling house, improve the property or mow the meadow without giving interest to his stepson: Richard Osborn.
January 20 1689-Mary Warford in her husband absence did deliver to John Pinckney the David Osborn dwelling house, orchard and all land belonging to Richard Osborn, which would be managed by his uncle John Pinckney until he was of age.
March 10,1691/1692-Mary Warford of Bronkshes(Bronx?) sold a black cow to Thomas Veale of Eastchester.Apparently after the death of Phillip Pinckney in the year 1687, John Warford left the area and settled in Baltimore Maryland where in 1696 he married the widow of John Nicholson(Maryland Inventory & Accts, Liber XIV, page 155)He probably died there about 1699.One child by his first marriage and 2 by his second marriage are known.
