Fanny Warman of Kent

Hi,

I am trying to trace the Warman side of my family tree. I have only gone back to Fanny Warman who was born in Sandwich Kent around 1859. She married William Henry Reynolds in Sandwich Kent in 1879. As far as I can tell they had 9 children: Florence, Clara, William, Ellen, Elizabeth, Walter, Bert, Edward and Thomas. The children were born between about 1879 and 1901.

Lachelle
Francis Warman/Mary Fowler's children in 1850 census?

I'm researching the Warman families who settled in Monongalia Co., (West) Virginia. In looking for the children of Francis Warman (b. 1786, Monongalia Co, VA) and Mary Fowler (b. 1786, Fayette Co., PA). Francis' will was probated in June, 1838. It listed as devisees: Mary Warman, wife, sons Thomas, Reason, John, Stephen, Francis, and Hirgamial Warman; daughters Margaret, Malinda, Sarah Anne, Lavina; son Bartholomew Warman. Reason Warman shows up in the 1850 census (Virginia, Monongalia Co., Eastern District, page 280A):

WARMAN, Rezin, 45, Male, laborer, born VA
----, Mary, 56, Female, born VA
----, Thomas, 18, Male, laborer, born VA
----, Nancy, 16, Female, born VA

Although the ages are fairly inaccurate.

Francis Warman's son Thomas was probably deceased by the 1850 census. Thomas Warman is not listed in the 1850 Census. There is the following listing, however (Virginia, Monongalia Co., Eastern District):

WARMAN, Verlinda, 11, f, born VA
WARMAN, Francis, 21, m, Laborer, b. VA
----, Mary, 44, f, b. VA
----, Thomas, 16, m, laboring, b. VA
----, Harriet, 8, f, born VA
----, Stephen, 6, m, born VA

It is probable that this family is Thomas' family. Francis is now the main farm worker, listed first, followed by his widowed mother. Thomas, Harriet, and Stephen (and Verlinda, working on the farm next door, enumerated just before) were the children of Thomas Warman and Mary ?, who were listed in the 1840 census for Monongalia Co.. This would mean Thomas died between 1843 and 1850. This is speculative, but seems to be corroborated by the Titus book.

But where is Steven? He is listed in the 1860 and later censuses as being in Monongalia Co. Has anyone found a listing for him in 1850?

I know this is a genealogy site but I am trying to locate a Herb and Mary Warman who were from Ohio. Herb was in the US Air Force in the 60's and our families were very close. Herb and Mary had two sons. I know the oldest son's name was Gayle and believe the youngest son's name was Kevin. My last contact with them was on Okinawa. If anyone knows Herb and Mary I would appreciate making contact with them.

Searching for the parents of Mary E. Warman, b. between 1821 and 1825, Hunterdon Co., NJ, poss. Raritan Twp. She married William W. Storr in Hunterdon Co., NJ, on Dec. 13, 1843.

Wm. was born in abt. 1825, Hunterdon Co., NJ. Wm. was a Farmer per the 1880 census, living in Raritan, Hunterdon Co. I do not know the names of his parents either.

They had four known children, including one son was named John, b. 1862, NJ.

I know there is a John N. F. Storr, who is a Warman descendant in NJ in 1902, who is a cousin of mine. And I believe I found a marriage reference to him:

"Feb. 3, 1883: John N. F. Storr married Martha J. Trimmer, both of Croton."

Martha was b. Nov. 13, 1859, Franklin Twp, Hunterdon Co., to the parents of John and Emeline Trimmer. Her birth year fits in line with Wm's son John's birth year of abt. 1862.

I believe John N. F. Storr to be the son of Wm. W. Storr. Anyone confirm this?

Michael

Warman family of (Stoke) Newington, Surrey/Middlesex

Elaborating on my earlier posting, I now believe that my earliest known ancestor (Edward Warman) was born on March 27th 1806 and christened June 22nd the same year at St. Mary Stoke Newington. His parents were William and Mary Warman. I believe he later married Mary Ann ____ and their children included Edward Henry (born Februray 2nd 1833) and my ancestor George (born 1835 or 1836).
I cannot find any reference to William Warman being born in Newington and so may well have come from anywhere in England. Perhaps anyone with a spare William on their family tree who is unaccounted for could contact me.
Thanks.

Edward Warman and son George, horse-keepers of Newington

Does anyone have any information on Edward Warman, horse-keeper, who was dead by the time of his son George's marriage on 30th March 1857 at St. Peter's church, Walworth, Surrey (parish of St. Mary, Newington)?

George, born in Newington and also a horse-keeper (or ostler), married Elizabeth Davy or Davey who was born in Devon. He was supposedly 21 and she 19. They lived in Lion Street, and the following year Elizabeth gave birth to my great-grandmother Mary Ann Eliza Warman who later changed the spelling of her name to Worman.

The 1881 census lists George (42) and Elizabeth (41)Warman at Content Street, Newington with some of their younger children:
Maria (daughter aged 12), born in Darwin Street (SE) c. 1869
Thomas (son aged 8), born in Walworth, Surrey c. 1873
Rose (daughter aged 6), born in Walworth c. 1875
Emma (daughter aged 1), born in Walworth c. 1880

By this stage, my great-grandmother had grown up, left home and married Samuel King and had started their own family.

Someone has hopefully stumbled across this mob in their research. Perhaps I may even be lucky enough to uncover some living cousins. With photos.
All the best,
Peter de Ryk (Melbourne, Australia)

Looking for information on Stephen Warman, who was probably born in the mid 1700s. Stephen was married to Verlinda Roby.

Their daughter, Margaret Warman (1783-1864) married Francis McShane. They lived in West Virginia until Francis was accused of murder and likely sentenced to death. At the age of 63, Margaret then moved to Iowa with her son Cornelius McShane.

(goldneagle88@yahoo.com)

There is speculation that he may have been born in IN, KY, PA, NJ, and other places with KY being most probable. However some think PA as most probable. We need to find some source. Thanks.
