Looking for relatives, my Grand-Father George Elmer Warnick was born in Maryland December 21,1897. He was married to Cora Taylor and they last lived in Pa. This is where my tree ends. Trying to find information on my Grand-Father's siblings and or parents. I believe from what my Dad told me our ancestry is out of Germany. Any information would be helpful.

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Charlie Warnicke and Mrs. Warnicke, nee Buchte”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Belvidere (Boone Co.) IL, and she looks about age 35, while he looks 5 years older.

I found Charles “Warnicka” in the 1900 census for Coral (McHenry Co.) IL, age 52, born Germany in Jan 1848. His wife was Carrie, age 50, born Germany in May 1850.

This Otha Warnick you're talking of is my Uncle Otha, also called Oakie. He married Judy and yes his children's names are Eric and Dawn. Dawn Ann has a daughter named Victoria. Otha does have siblings Richard, but there are many more not listed. My Grandfather's name was otha warnick. He was born in 1918 in Maryland. He married Catherine Boltz. Grandpa Otha died in 1986. He did have a brother Richard, he also had sons Richard, Otha, Alden, Franklyn, Dennis, Robert. He had Daughters, Katherine, and Wanda. I look at the above post and note that I said Robert Lay instead of children of Robert Warnick. Anyway, I had an e mail from some library pointing me to "The History of Macon County Illinois". I had read that earlier and the father of Robert was William the first lawman in Macon County, Illinois. I thank the person who e mailed the information. Rootsweb world connect also contains that information. However, I still would like information on the children of Robert Warnick. Did most of them die at an early age? Are there any descendent still alive?

Robert Warnick married 1st 2-18-1846 Julia Ann Read and 2nd Mary E. Lay 3-4-1858. I am looking for the children by his second wife Mary E. Lay. I believe that Rebecca is one of their children. She is listed on the 1870 census in Macon County, Il as Rebeca with Lidia Lay and Sarah. She is listed on the 1880 census in Montgomery County, Il.as Rebeca under Sarah Pasley as a neice. Sarah Pasley was a Lay. I also thing evidence show that Enos was a son. He is listed on the 1880 census at 12 years as a brother-in-law of Frederick(index has Huduick) Myers. Frederick's wife was Minerva an older daugter of Robert Lay. I cannot find an 1860 census for the Robert Lay family. I assume he was in the war so maybe that is why the family isn't showing up.

I believe that Mary E. Lay may be the sister of James B. Lay who ends up in Montgomery County, Kansas.

Do you know anything about the children of Robert Lay? I would like to correspond with anyone interested in any of the above names.---or connections to the above names.

I actually have two Benjamin Mathews; one was the son of Ezekiel Mathews, b. abt. 1796 in Laurens, SC; He is the brother of the Abel Mathews I mentioned. Abel Mathews had a son named Benjamin Ezekiel Mathews, b. abt. 1824 i Gwinnett Co, GA. He married a Mahala or Mahaley Beasley. I don't have anything further on either Benjamin Mathews.

My Matthews surname is most often found spelled Mathews. Have you checked the Newberry County, SC records? There are a lot of Matthews/Mathews from Laurens, Newberry, Old Distric 96. Donald "Don" H. Warnick, 85, Moses Lake resident, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 at LakeRidge Special Care Center in Moses Lake.

Burial will take place at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Don was born September 19, 1920 in Yakima to the late Roy & Mary (Shuman) Warnick.

Don was one of the original owners of the Warnick Brother's Guest Ranch in the upper Wenas Valley. He was later employed by the Yakima Hardware Company for a number of years.

Survivors include his two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Warnick and Michael & Donna Warnick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki & Matt Peunic and Lisa & Randy Johnson along with 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy.

I am searching for any information on a Mary L. F. Warneck who married John Freeman of Cullman, Alabama in 1884. They called her "Fannie". According to census she was born abt. 1868 in Alabama. Not sure if the spelling of last name is correct, but it is at it appears on marriage certificate.
