Thomas & Mary (Coucom) Wasden's house in Scipio

I ran into a WASDEN cousin at the 2006 Genealogy & Family Heritage Jamboree in St. George, UT this weekend.

He explains that Thomas & Mary (Coucom) Wasden's house in Scipio, Utah is still standing. This couple is one set of original immigrant ancestors for me. I descend through their youngest child, Eliza Marie Wasden who was born in Gunnison, UT 13 Oct 1862.

The man I spoke with descended through another child, Frederick Wasden who was born on 22 May 1846 in Aston, Beighton (not sure if this is Derbyshire or Yorkshire, England.)

NOW, you KNOW I am planning a trip down to see this before I leave for Florida this year.
Gracie Wasden (1811-1863) d/o William J Wasden & Elizabeth

Seeking info on my 5th great grandmother Gracie Wasden. Born 1811 in Jackson County Georgia. I don't know anything but her mothers name, Elizabeth. Her fathers name was William J. Wasden of North Carolina. Gracie married Thomas Everett Beck in 1829. Gracie died in Coffee County Alabma and I think atleast one of their children was born there as well, probably several. I have Gracie & Thomas Everett Beck's children listed as: Caleb, James, Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Catharine L., Sarah Malinda, Susannah, Elander, Elbert & William Elbert. Sarah Malina married into my Lee line. Sarah & William Lunford Lee was the parents of my 3rd great grandmother, Catherine Rebecca Lee.

Looking for any connection to any of these families. Willing to share my info.

Thanks,
Jan

Old country school

Does anyone have a picture of County Line school? It was situtated on the Wayne/ Pierce county line. It had 2 rooms and a kitchen. Mrs Lela Deal was one of the teachers for many years.1947 was the last year that classes were held there. Farmlife school and County Line school were closed at that time and we all had to go to Screven and Patterson Georgia schools. At least 2 generations of my family attended this school. Would like to have a picture if anyone would like to share theirs.
Colonel Joseph Wasden

I am searching for the burial site of a
Confederate troop named Joseph Wasden. He
was a member of the 22nd Infantry and died
at Gettysburg in July of 1863. Any
information that could provide me some leads
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
for your time. Have a nice weekend.

Origin of Wasden name

To all wasdens including Wndy, who inquired re possible origin: I ran across a map of England in a book years ago and noticed a town named "Waddesden"! It was near the southern tip of England. Say that fast--it gives rise to the possibility we may have come from there. My Wasden grandfather was John Brooks Wasden, son of Thoomas Wasden and Mary Coucom Wasden. If anyone has knowledge of this, please e-mail me at mussyone@webtv.net. Thanks!
