I have a copy of letter written by Ebenezer Washburn. It begins:
"Hallowell, 3 Jany 1818
Dear Sir ( at bottom it says addressed to Major Young)
I write you this mainly to apologize for not having it in my power to pay your son the money we owe you when called on me for it some time ago...."
I have this document scanned and would be happy to send it to any of his descendants. I found it among the Henry Young papers in the Ontario Archives. The Major Young referred to is either Henry Young 1737-1821, a pioneer of Prince Edward County, or his son Daniel Young. Both used the appellation Major at various times.
I am not a Washburn descendant.
