Surnames: death of a Waters
This may not be of help but here goes. I am a descendent of Thomas Waters b. 1830 to John Waters & Margaret Warren. He mar. Jane Williams 1863 & came to Australia on the Lightning in 1854. I believe an older brother also came. His oldest brother was John b. 1814 & they were miners from St Just Cornwall. A John Waters died in Victoria Aust in 1872 Aged 55 with parents unknown. Dates are not quite right but our recording at that period was a little flexible particularly as death details show no parent names. Also John is a very common name and miners from Cornwall called Waters also appear very common
