What does anyone really know about the children of William Bearskin Watson?
I find several family trees assigning children to this fellow, who is said to have been born in Virginia in 1742 and died in Kentucky in 1834. But the lists of children are far from uniform from tree to tree. Among those sometimes identified as his children, William, Alexander, Michael, John, and Isaac ended up in Greene County, Indiana. I do not question that these were in Greene Co. But other than the fact that Isaac and Michael are listed next to each other in the 1830 census, I don't see what makes them brothers, let alone sons of William Bearskin Watson.
I am not suggesting that the associations are incorrect. I merely want to know what evidence there really is that makes them brothers and sons of William Bearskin Watson.
I am descended from Isaac, but I don't want to claim William Bearskin as his father without knowing what evidence exists for basing this claim.
Thanks for any light you can shed on this matter.
