DESMOND IS MY MOTHER'S COUSIN. HIS FATHER WAS EDMUND WATTON. DESMOND WAS A DOCTOR PRACTISING IN THE DUDLEY/ROWLEY REGIS AREA. I BELIEVE HIS WIFE WAS BERYL AND THEY HAVE TWO SONS ONE CALLED MICHAEL.

I was at a family funeral recently and a cousin told me that the sister of my great grandfather Joseph married a man called Watton. I have just discovered that her name was Mary Matilda Loudon and that she married John Watton in Ballymoney in County Antrim in 1900. Their first son was called John and he died in infancy. According to the 1911 Irish Census, their children were Eileen, Lillie, Daniel, Joseph and James. I am presently undertaking Louden/Loudon family history research. It looks highly probable that we are related. I would love to get in touch.

there might be a connection. I know that John & Jone were married 28 nov 1588 in Cropthorne, Worcestershire. I also know that John Watton died 8 mar 1628 in Cropthorne, Worcestershire. besides that I don't have much more information. If you could find a connection, I would appreciate the help.

The names you mention don't ring any bells at the moment, but I guess if any of your Wattons live in Sedgley we may well have a connection. What is the name, dates & location of your earliest Watton ancestor?

Iam trying to locate any family members of Rebecca Gaus which it shows as her parents being Frank Gaus & Helen Icie Watton. Rebecca was married to Carl Gatewood. Rebecca & Carl had several children which one of them was Sandy Gatewood Crane. Sandy was my mother & her & my father Harley Crane died in a trailor fire when I was 9 months old in Zanesville, Ohio. Iam the youngest of the their three children & I do not know anyone on my mothers side of the family. Iam looking for any info & would like to find family members on her side of the family. Seeking information on my grandfater John Edwin Peters (Petes, someone has even suggested LaPierre)). b: June 7, 1987. Our family has always believed that our grandfather was born in Canada. We think his parents were George Peters (France), and Donna Jones (England). I recently found his military records in Canada and it lists his birthplace as Crmolin, Bulguria. This is a total surprise to the family, but then again not much was known about him by his family. Would anyone have any knowledge of him or his family?? We have no idea of when he would have gone to Canada. Possibly his parents were traveling and he was born during a trip. Thanks in advance for any information you may be able to pass on !!!!

I have a Rachel Ann Jeavons of sedgley who's married a Joseph Watton b 7 July 1841.

One of their children was a Thomas Watton B 23 02 1874. Thomas married a Lucy Colins.

Is this the same same family ?

Thought I would respond to your query. You stated that you weren't able to prove some of your information concerning the Watton and Johnstown, WV. Well, don't know if this will help, but Zachariah & Ann E. Nutter-Watton, had a daughter Mary Jane who married my great-grandfather, William Palmer.
William and Mary Jane Palmer had a son named Earl Lee Palmer, who was my mother's father. Mom was raised in Johnstown, WV for many years. So I would say, do some more research, for I have a feeling your info is correct..

I have Theresa Watton linked into my family tree, born March quarter 1874, West Bromwich and married William Arthur Smith June quarter 1893, West Bromwich. Father was Joseph Staley Watton and mother Sarah Ann Barton.

Hello! Yes, I think we've been in touch before, but I couldn't be absolutely sure. I'm sure that we must be related, but can't see at the moment how. The Thomas Watton referred to by Anne Bennett had brothers Isaac, Richard & Joseph - but no William Joseph, though that may just be because my tree is incomplete.

Do you have a (rough) date of birth for William Joseph - or know the exact address where he lived (and when), as that may help me tie things down?

i think we may have spoke previously and have just read your conversation with ann bennet. i believe my husband william is the great nephew of the thomas watton you mention. my husbands grandad william joseph was thomas's brother so we think and my husbands dad was william charles who lived at the top of hill street , ruiton. His nan was louisa watton, who died in june 2004, the day before her 101st birthday. What I find most interesting is that william charles best friend was john bennet. Even though they were known as hawkers, they built most of gornal as bricklayers as you may know. If it is that we fit into your family tree, there was 7 children from william joseph, 5 girls, 2 boys and from william charles 3 boys and 1 girl. Could you please let me know if we fit into your information.

Will get a copy of my Watton tree in the post to you asap. A lot of my information was provided by a Margaret Watton from Quarry Bank whose husband John is quite closely related to a branch of the Watton family from Studley - so wondered if this was you when I saw the address.

My address is 39 Furlongs Rd, Sedgley, Dudley, DY3 3UT. Would love any information you have.

Haven't heard of the book "Lower Gornal" - sounds interesting!

I'm at work at the moment and the info I've got is at home where I am not on line. What I can remember is Thomas was the son of Joseph and his mothers maiden name was Jeavons. Thomas moved to Studley in Warwickshire to start a scrap businessa in the late 1800's. My partner Ray has got some copies of photos of the Hawkers in their wagons. I'll bring the file to work tomorrow and can send you copies if you want.

My GGG GF James WATTON was born 1817 probably in Kinson, Dorset and married an Anna BARNES also believed to be from Kinson. They had a son Ethelbert born 1853 in Kinson (I have the birth cert). I cannot trace a marriage in BMD indexes, nor find them in a digital copy of the 1851 census for which I do not have a printed index. Grateful for a lead.

My email address has changed , I just happened to look at this site and saw your posting. Regarding the 1900 census , Helen wasn't listed with Thomas and Rebecca, I believe that she was married to Frank Gaus. and William was listed in the 1900 Census as Guy. (William Guy)

Hi, I have some information on William A. Watton. There seems to be two of them. I have just recently been able to connect my grandfather, Robert Vern Watton, to William A. Watton whose father was Grandville Watton. I believe that on of my grandfathers was a brother to Jeremiah Watton who had a son named William A. Please email me back if you have any info about William A. Watton. I believe that we may be in the same family. I had gotten so discouraged that I quit looking for a while but am back at it again.

I am looking for information on a William Watton, born September 19, 1895, and died in March of 1967. He was married to Hilda (Ames). Hilda was a sister to my Grandfather, and I am trying to locate information on her. I'm not even sure her last name was Ames. They had a daughter named Nancy Watton.

I stayed at their home during the time of my Grandmother's illness. Nancy would be in her 60's now. I do not know her married name. William and Hilda are both dead, but I am trying to find Nancy Watton to get information on my Aunt Hilda.
