Was Anna Watzka born on January 16, 1896 in Speierling, Czech Republic? I have information about a person called Anna Watzka who had 9 sisters and 1 brother. The younger brother was born on November 11, 1890 in Speierling.

Just one correction from my previous post. Anna was not the youngest of 11 children, but the next to the youngest. She had a younger brother.

Anna Watzke was my mother's aunt - Anna was the youngest of 11 children, and my grandmother was the oldest. One reason I was glad to see your post is that I did not know the name of Anna's first husband. Her second husband was James Kilgore, and they had two sons, James (Jerry) and Tolbert Orlina (Orlie). Orlie died many years ago, I think, and Jerry died in 1999. Anna married at least one more time, to Russell Edson, and perhaps once between her marriages to Kilgore and Edson. Mildred's husband that you mentioned was Steve Kelso. Anna died March 1, 1995 in California. She was born June 1, 1896 in Alderson, OK (Indian territory then).
Her parents were Wilhelm (William) Watzke and Frances Adeline Bettis.

Anna Watzka, was a teacher in Ok. when she met my granddad, George William McLain,(b. 1894 in Spiro,Ok.)
Anna had a daughter by George named Mildred Francis,(b. 1914 in Ok.) I found Mildred and Anna in the 1920 census of
Henryetta,Ok. Anna has married J.A. Kilgore. Mildred is using the Kilgore surname at age 5.
Mildred gets her S.S. card in Kansas. I met Aunt Mildred and
Anna in San Leandro, Alameda Co. Ca. in 1985. In 1990 MIldred passed on in the same area. Mildred adopted a son ,but I don't have his first name or Mildred's husband 's first name,surname is Kelso.

I myself am a Watzke. Many Watzkes live in the Chicago-area(where i'm from), the New Orleans-area, and Minneapolis-area.

My father's name was Joseph, son of John and Sophie Watcke of Trumbull, Conn. My grandfather had brothers Fritz, Adolph, and Joe (Happy). My father had brothers named Albert, John, Henry, Louis, and a sister Marie. Albert and Louis are the only surviving siblings. I have two brothers Richard and Thomas. Other relatives I recall included Frieda,Gertrude & Bill.... I know my grandfather, John, immigrated to the U.S. from Vienna around 1889-93(?), I hope this info may be of help. Good Luck

I forgot to say in my last message that my fathers cousins did live in Florida and my parents use to visit them on their vacation trips to Florida back in the 1950's. I just never knew that much about his relatives. Lynn

My father Herman Watzke was born in Vienna, Austria, Feb.10, 1897 to Maria Watzke. Marie had many siblings. She married a man by the name of Johann Wiesinger and came to America in 1906 with her children and also her younger brother Herman. Does any of this sound familiar? My name is Lynn and my father's name was Herman Wiesinger but he was born to Maria Watzke in Vienna, Austria, Feb. 10, 1897 as Herman Nicholas Watzke. It was only after his mother Marie met and married Johann Wiesinger that he came to America and took the name of Herman Wiesinger. His mother did have a brother Herman that came with her to this country in 1906 and he was 17 years old at that time. Do you think there might be a link here? he is died 1991 in Germany and he comes from "Auschine" near "Aussig/Elbe" in Tschechien/Bohemia. After the second worldwar he most go with hims family to west germany, first to bavaria/near Regensburg, than 1953 to Darmstadt/Hessen.
I leave at the time near Michelstadt/Odw.

His mother's name was Marie Watzke and she married John Wiesinger. They came to this America from Vienna, Austria in 1907. According to the ship manifest, there was Johan Watzke, who was my dad's uncle, Marie's brother, that also came over at the same time. My dad was Herman Nicholas Watzke and he was born Feb.10,1897 in Vienna. I would like to hear from you if any of this sounds familiar. Lynn
