Greetings,
I am Marcia Bennett Parker (J's wife : ) I am trying to locate a "M.A.E." Waybourn Bennett of Montague, Co. TX.. She was the daughter of W.T. and Elizabeth Waybourn (her parents are buried in Montague Co. TX) She married W.W. (Woodford) Bennett--my line-- in Montague, Co TX during the 1860's...1870 census has them listed as "Burnett",,,then Bennett again in 1880. The two brothers, Woodford and Levi Bennett show up on tax records in Montague Co. around 1867. Woodford's land and cattle were distroyed by Indian raids---he filed for money from gov't....he died in late 1800's ---his wife "Betty" continued suit and received payment...some census have her listed as Mariah A.E.--we also think Elizabeth was a name--due to her using Betty later in life. She died early 1900's. We do not know where Woodford is buried,,,but assume it is in Montague area...if any of these names are familiar,,,please contact me--as we would like to put the puzzle together...thanks...M
