John Wesley Wayman born in PA...Info???

I was in search of John Wesley Wayman, born in PA abt 1857. His father was also named John and he was born in Maryland. I don't know his mother's name but she was born in PA. John W. married a woman named Caroline (maiden name unknown) middle initial "A". She was also born abt 1857 and was from VA. Both of her parents were from VA and their names are unknown. John and Caroline had one daughter (I don't know if this was his second wife as they were 34 when she was born) they named her also Caroline A. born in 1891 in Maryland.

Any info or help is greatly appreciated!

I am related to a John Wesley Wayman. What info do you have? You are a descendant??? He married a mulatto woman named Caroline but I don't know her maiden name. She was born in Virginia. John's father was born in Maryland and his mother was born in Pennsylvania. I was told his father's name was also John. Any help??

According to WWII Registration Card 1942, date of birth is
7 April 1896 in Chicago. Order birth certificate from

Leo L. Wayman

I am looking for Leo L. Wayman born 1893 in Chicago, died May 27, 1948. His wife's name was Frances and they had several children. Leo might have had sisters named Cecilia and Anne. I can't find any information on who Leo's parents would have been. Also, I am at a dead end with any information on his 2 sisters and whether there is any other relatives for him. I would appreciate any help that someone could give me.

Hi, thanks for the info but I don't think this is the same Joseph Wayman as in my line. My Joseph Wayman was born around 1830, then lived in Clark CO. IN where he was married. With his wife Anna Rebecca Jacobs, they moved to Iowa, with a group while on the way to Utah, but they had a child in Iowa, Charles Edgar and they decided to turn back and moved back to Clark CO. IN where they passed away when Charles was only 3 yrs old. I'm sorry I cannot offer any help for your line. Thanks!

My G-Grandfather was Joseph Wayman born 1819 in Virginia, Botetourt County. His family moved to Boone Co., Indiana in the 1830's where he married Margaret Bishop. After his mother died (Margaret(Peggy)Wayman)in 1853, the family then moved to Warren Co., Iowa where they finally settled. This group did not move on to Utah.
I've been trying for 10 years to find the family of Joseph's father, John Henry Wayman. He was born in Maryland according to census records but lived in Virginia later where he married Joseph's mother, Margaret Francis. I just want to find the Wayman family John Henry originated from in Maryland. Anything pertaining to these families would be extremely appreciated...

Hello,

Trying to find any info on John W. Wayman, born abt 1857 in PA, USA. His father was I believe was also named John and they were from Maryland. Don't know his mother's name. Just know that he was a performer as listed on the 1910 Federal Census and also lived in Pennsylvania. His wife was named Caroline and she was born in VA. Their daughter, also named Caroline was born in Maryland around 1891. John died between 1910 and 1913 because he was listed on the 1910 census but by 1913 his wife Caroline was listed as a widow.

My great grandfather is Albert Morton born April 26, 1875 and married Mary Ellen Wayman born June 1880. Their children are: Alberta Mae born January 22, 1900 (my grandmother), Leslie J (Ted) born March 13, 1902, William T born November 24, 1909, Francis R, born October 11,1915 and Floyd H or U born February 14, 1917.

I have a lot of the Morton, Wayman and Umlauf history. Who is your father and can you give me any other names in your family to see if we are related.

I do not know if the Ritzschke family is a part of my family or not. My great grandmother is Albertina Brusewitz bornMay 2, 1845 in Masso, Pommern, Germany. She died October 10, 1929 u\in Carlisle Township, Ottertail County, Minnesota. Albertina married Carl Emil Paul Umlauf born April 4,1845 and died October 13, 1905. Their children are: William, Mary Umlauf Gunther, Hattie Umlauf Hanneman, Ottilie E. Umlauf Tough, and Carl Emil Paul Umlauf.

Oh, I also posted another post to the original poster which I believe is my relative who posted about Mary Ellen Morton who I just found out is my Great Grandmother. The OP mentioned a Ritzschke who posted a family tree with whom my Great Grandmother was mentioned, so, if you have any idea on how Ritzschke and Umlauf are related or crossed pathes in the past I would love to know!

I have an ancester William Henry Wayman that was born in (I believe) Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire in 1841. He came to Prince Edward Island, married Margaret Smith, and they had three children. He died of pneumonia at age 37,while working on the railroad. I am a great granddaugther of their son, Charles William Wayman. His sister, Mary Louise Wayman, married Frederick Renouf and stayed on PEI. The third child, William James, was reported to have died young.

I haven't confirmed William Henry' parentage yet. I look forward to hearing from you.

Worked for Ragasine Oil in the UK and started Rocol made at Leeds Yorkshire UK was my Grandfather. Anybody have any info. His wife was Elsie Hamilton (nee Glover). They lived in Canada for a while. I have a feeling he was brought up in Egypt, but because of that I can't fill up this area of my family tree. He is too recent to be in a census, but is in the phone books. As he and Elsie divorced, this has also muddied the trail.

This family may be from the Wayman family that settled with the Germanna Colony in Old Orange County, VA. It is mentioned in many references to Orange County and there is a book about the Germanna Colony with documentation of most of the families.

If you don't already know, this Wayman family was a member of the Germanna Colony on the Rapid Ann/Rapidan River near Orange Courthouse. They are well documented in a book about the Germanna Colony. I knew an Uts/Utz descendant. EGT

Edward Eugene Wayman was the son of William Wayman (b. c.1826, d. 1876 Washington Co., IL), by his wife Martha Jane Avant. They married in 1851. I have the dates of birth of their children at home (I'm at work); this came from William's probate file in Washington Co., IL. Some of the children moved to Arkansas and others Oklahoma. William Riley Wayman, b. 1855, was one who moved to Oklahoma. William's father, as Ann noted, was Asa Wayman; mother was Mary Carr. My great-great-grandmother was Rachel Caroline Wayman Faulkner.

These names and dates were provided by John V. Avant in 1882, in William Wayman's probate file. Edward Eugene's is a bit off, but undoubtedly the same person.

William was the son of Asa and Mary (Carr) Wayman; grandson of John and Margaret (Elliott) Wayman; great-grandson of Edmund and Mary (prob. Fowler) Wayman; great-great-grandson of Edmund and Mary (Linthicum) Wayman, and great-great-great-grandson of Leonard Wayman (d. 1721), who came to Maryland prior to 1675.

The John Wayman in Montgomery County in 1790 would be the John Wayman who married Ann Warfield and was the son of Leonard Wayman (b. 1699), or possibly the John Wayman son of Leonard Wayman, Jr. (b. 1726). Your John Henry Wayman was German; these were English. I suspect you need to research the Henry Wayman family in Virginia.

I knew Geoffrey Wayman as I am married to the neice of Geoffrey's second wife, Rhoda.

I believe he was born in Egypt, his father according to his marriage certificate was an admiral in tne British Navy.
I have found a Wayman in the British Army in Egypt in the Great War as an acting lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps.

Hi My ancestor was John Grant 1799 married to Maria, lived in Berks Co.Pa. I have heard his ancestor William Grant was married to Elizabeth Boone sister to Daniel Boone. Elizabeth Boone and her family moved from Berks Co Pa to Va, Ky, NC before 1750. Probably around the 1730's or 1740's. Have been searching for years to find John Grants ancestry with no luck only possibilities. Do you have a JOhn Grant born to your Grants? Scott, Don't think I can help you much but my great-grandmother was Margaret E. Grant before she married my great-grandfather Joseph F. Wayman in Indiana. All I know about her is her father's name was John Grant and Margaret was born in Missouri according to census records.
This Wayman family migrated from Maryland and Virginia and lived in Indiana, Iowa and some in Kansas.

Not sure if these are the same onew you are looking for.
I have Samuel Wayman 1824-1891 in Over.
Married Ann Wilkin 1824-1885.
Their daughter Elizabeth Wilkin Wayman married a Bicheno who came to California.
Samuel's mother was Elizabeth Fordham. Sound familiar?

I have a public tree on Ancestry.com named Lippen. If you follow back from George Wayman Bertch 1921-1837 you should find what I have on these folks.
Maybe you can tell me what happened to the oones who stayed in England or emigrated elsewhere besides California.

Hello, I am afraid that I can only be of limited help. I am current MD at ROCOL. Recently uncovered some archive materials that have got me interested in the history.
I have Capt Wayman's note to staff with "The Rocol Story" (presumably written by him) to commemorate the opening of the "new" factory at Swillington in May 1959. I also have photocopy of Yorkshire Post article dated December 1964 with photo of Capt Wayman and his board of directors (including E J G Wayman (his son?). I also have an old black and white photo of a presentation taking place on the Swillington site but not sure if Capt Wayman is one of the gents pictured. By the way, the correct spelling is Ragosine (just in case you are googling further info).

My maiden name is (Umlauf) so when I seen this post I found it quite odd that my current (Ritzschke), maiden (Umlauf), and my grandmothers (my fathers mom) maiden name (Morton) are all in the subject line. Besides the fact that you and my husband are related, Im still unsure of the other post that connects all the names.

I am interested in any source information for Aaron WAYMAN (14 Feb 1773-31 Aug 1850); George Washington Wayman 1811-1848. Aaron was born in Culpepper, VA and died in Kenton, Kentucky. George born and died in Kentucky. There are many family trees with this information, but I can't seem to find hard source info for George. He supposedly died months before his daughter Martha Washington Wayman (my great grandmother). But I don't know how to verify this. Any help would be appreciated!

I have a number of Ritzschke's in my tree. I have a couple of Carl's, Walter and a Henry born abt 1818 in Germany. These Ritzschke's are all buried in Herman, MN
