I would like to invite all people interested in learning more about the Wakelee/Wakeley/Weakley/Weekley etc surname to have a look at our ongoing DNA project over at Family Tree DNA. If you have questions about which branches of our large families match up back in the days before written records we need to have more involvement in this project from all of you.

I especially urge those of you with no knowledge of your family beyond the US to consider expanding our body of knowledge. Perhaps you could connect up to another branch of the family and give yourself that vital clue.

Participation in the project will allow you to have the testing done at a level of your choice and with a reduced cost. If you like there are even free methods of testing but the results from those tests take over a year to receive.
