Read your reply to the quilt and am very interested in knowing your weatherby line in Athens County, Ohio. I'm searching for Weatherby's who are my natural parents for medical reasons. I believe he died in 1966 or thereabouts and was at an Athens, Ohio funeral home. May have been buried in an Athens, Ohio cemetery. Mother's name may be Lilly like the flower she said. I've only know for over 8 years that I was adopted and a twin. There's supposed to be an indian link in the family and epilepsy. Need to narrow things down. Father was seriuosly hurt, head injury around 60-61 at the Congo, Ohio mine opening. He died what I believe was 7 years later. Last saw real mother in Crooksville, Ohio church in 1991 and Roseville Pottery Festival same year. I was born with a twin sister whom I was not raised with. Please contact me asap about the weatherly's as it would seem there is a connection between the ones you know in Athens County, Ohio and my own. It's very very important that I locate my mother to gather family medical information for research project to better the lives of all who have this epilepsy. Any help at all that you could give would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at calligraphy1019@hotmail.com or 740-503-8819 or 614-352-2448. thanks.

would you happen to have any weatherby related to same in Perry County, Ohio and possibly know living relatives? Very very important that I locate my biological family for family medical history. Believe my dad died around 1966 and was in an Athens, Ohio funeral home. He sustained a severe head injury around the years 1960-1961. He would've possibly lived 7 more years after this injury. Believe mother's name is Lilly and last saw her in 1991 at Roseville and Crooksville, Perry County, Ohio. Thanks.

Re: Abraham Weatherby, Minister

I'm searching for a Weatherby line in Perry County, Ohio myself. I have been told I was blood related to Young's and introduced to some of them when I was a child. One couple were very small people who lived in Nelsonville, Ohio in 1983. Another couple lived in what I vaguely recall as being Silver something or other. Either the husband or wife had an aunt by the name of Libby who lived next door in a tiny house on this hillside. She was in her 90's I believe. The man next door who was younger than this woman had a collection of player pianos in his garage basement. If I remember right I believe his name was Robert. He was very nice to me and I remember this well. He wanted to give me one of his pianos but instead he gave me a large coin. I spent time alone with Aunt Libby to make sure she didn't fall and found her to be exceptionally good company. She was witty to be sure. The tiny couple in Nelsonville, lived down the hill from High St. I once saw them over at the Job's Hollow Church for some sort of revival or something. My parents lived in Perry County between Shawnee and Crooksville. My father may have worked at the Congo mine and this is where he sustained a major head injury around the year 1960-1961. I was a witness to this injury. I saw him in the hospital at least two times but don't yet remember where this might have been. He died seven years after the injury to his head and was laid out in a funeral home in what I believe was in Athens, Ohio but again I'm not sure. My mother, whom I didn't know was my real mother, told me at the casket that I had saved his life and given them seven more years with him. I believe the year was probably 1967? I vaguely recall that he might have been buried in Athens, Ohio at this big old cemetery right in town. I've seen my mother and her women friends at a toy giveaway at Shawnee when I was around eight years old, possibly in 1966? She tried to get me back but was unable to and took quite a beating for it from the woman who was raising me. My real mother wasn't physically fighting her. I saw her again in 1991 at a United Methodist Church in Crooksville, Ohio when I traveled there with "The River Valley Boys" for a concert. My adopted mother attacked her and I broke it up with help from this quartet. Not knowing what this was all about I located the woman and told her how sorry I was that mom did that to her. Mom was a loose cannon at best. This woman, my real mother, whom I didn't know was my real mother, told me her name was Lilly. She crossed the street when mom confronted her again and got into a brown Chevy. I perceived that she was my mother and asked her if this was true. My adopted mom popped her head out the window making talking impossible at that point. She held my hands in her own and had such love in her eyes towards me. I saw her once again, also with the same gospel group, at the Roseville Pottery Festival in 1991. Again my "adopted" mom went along and saw this woman with me and quickly attacked. She did give me her last name but it would be 10 years before I remembered enough to realize that I'd been adopted at a very young age. I confronted both my parents about this eight+ years ago and they confessed that I was not their natural child. I was born in Zanesville, Ohio according to my adopted mother at Bethesda? in 1958 with a twin sister. I was born with epilepsy which I inherited from what my son's neurologist believes would be my mother. I've been disabled with it since 1986 and my mother should have it twice as bad as I do. The fact that my son inherited it from me is a medical first for this epilepsy. My son's neurologist hopes that I will gather the medical history of the parent I got it from in order to locate the gene(s) responsible for this in my son's dna. Dna abnormalities in this are passed from mother to daughter and until my son and I it had never gone to a male child. A male child's dna could be examined for this genetic defect. Once located they could begin to formulate gene therapy for all those affected by this epilepsy. That means, that tens of thousands if not 100's of thousands of people could potentially have better quality life due to my gathering this parent's family medical history regarding this and their blood could be collected to study as well. Your help in this is crucial because this is the very first time I've had a last name to search with, let alone the name Lilly for my mother. I hope my memory serves me well in all of these things as it has in the past. In 1983 my memory was tested to be more like video by a team of research doctors at Ohio State University Hospitals. So, once something gets captured in my memory it's stuck there and can be accessed by me, usually when I want to. My childhood memories are a bit harder since I endured traumatic events which caused my mind to hide memories from me so that I might survive the ordeals. It's only been recent that I've remembered my mother's first name and last name so I'm very excited about finding her. I want her to know that I'm ok and doing well. She saw and met my son and daughter in 1991 at Crooksville, Ohio and the Roseville Pottery Festival. We now have a new member in the family and that is a granddaughter named Jada who's now a toddler. My mother needs to know that she has nothing to fear from my adopted parents because mom passed away in 2005. My adopted dad has not been a part of my life for near to nine years now. My mother can contact me at any time by calling me at 614-352-2448 or 740-503-8819. My email address is calligraphy1019@hotmail.com I don't know where my twin sister is yet but I'm still looking. We were together for about two and a half years before I was adopted again separately. I reside in Lancaster, Ohio. If anything besides what I've read in your post compares to what I know about my family, please contact me as soon as possible. I'm looking for my living family as well as information to fill in all the blanks for my ancestors. You may be the key to all of it. Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you soon about this. P.S. I was told, don't know if it's true but I'm supposed to be blood relation to Roger and Robyn Row who once attended Berne Union Elementary School in the 1960's or early 70's. Any of the Young's, or Weatherby's in your line could lead me to my biological family. Thanks.

Doris, You seem to be the only hope I have in finding Winiford and Mary Weathersbee's maiden names. after 5 years of research, your book must be the correct one for my line because our line has been entirely omitted from Albert weatherbee's book and mostly dismissed in Eliz. deHuff's book. Mary's husband was stephen son of thomas from NC who had about 14 children. Stephen's son was gideon who married Winiford. I have the whole line traced to bart. but need to know what happened to the wives. thank you

Looking for the parents of Charles Wallace Hurd, died Febuary 18, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio. Married Margaret C. Drinkaus (Trinkaus) at Wayne County Michigan on April 8, 1890. Have a Charles W. Hurd born East Saginaw, St. Clair County, Michigan (now Port Huron?) May 8, 1868. His parents are listed on birth register as Charles C. Hurd and Harriet L.(?) Hurd. Charle's state of birth listed as Michigan, Harriet's state of birth listed as Ohio. Parents are listed on marriage register as Chas Hurd and Lina Wetherbe (Whetherby, Weatherby?). I may have 2 different Charles W. Hurds. The marriage register name matches the father (Drinkaus). The birth register month & day matches the death certificate, but the year does not (1875). I would appreciate any info from anyone with a Harriet Hurd m. to a Charles W. Hurd or any Wetherbe (Weatherby, Wetherby - sp?) family with a family member married to a Hurd

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 12 May 1904, Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

BOY CAUGHT LIVE WIRE

Shawnee: Some linemen in doing work for the Bell Telephone Company allowed a wire to sag and cross a trolley wire. A little 8 year old boy named Edgar Weatherby, who was playing in the street, caught hold of the wire and was rendered unconscious by the shock. He was badly burned in both hands and one leg. His mother, Mrs. Weatherby, saw the accident and ran to her boy's assistance. The live wire touched her right hand and seriously burned it.

Kim, it would help if you had some names and dates, at least your grandmother-in-law's first, middle and maiden name (I assume Weatherby) and year of birth, and why you think "Washington state" may be involved. If you know her mother's name, or have any clue as to "family" first names it could also be helpful as names are often repeated in families when a child is named after a favorite sibling. There are a number of "Weatherby" families up and down the west coast, and at least one fellow in Oregon who has quite a collection of the Weatherby genealogy...just a suggestion
