Any Weatherlys out there familiar with any of the following?
My g-great grandmother, MARY POLLY Weatherly, was born 15 Sep 1820, GUILFORD, NC., died 26 Jun, 1886, HUNT COUNTY, TEXAS. I believe her father is ABNER F. WEATHERLY, born 1790-1800, also GUILFORD CO, NC. and his father probably was WILLIAM Weatherly, b 1768, died 1824, NC, married JANE FULTON. I found a will abstract recently through message board on Genealogy.com for William, died 1824-GUILFORD, NC, mentioning ABNER and Abner's daughters, ELIZA, MARY, and FRANKY:
"Page 91 GUILFORD County, N.C. Will Abstracts
B: 0538 - WILLIAM Weatherly - 1824 - Prb. Feb 1824
Wife JANE - home plantation to raise & educate gr son MILTON as he has no father & mother
Son ABNER F. - to manage the plantation
PHILLIP EUBANKS ran off with dau POLLY's property & left MMILTON
GEORGE has a father & I have done what could for him
Abner's 3 daus: ELIZA, MARY, & FRANKY - proceeds from sale
Exrs: Son A. F. WEATHERLY, wife JANE Weatherly
Proved in Court by JAMES FULTON, Esqr., MARK Weatherly"
I think my Mary POLLY is one of those 3 daughters. In 1850 census, a MILTON Weatherly, born 1835-Tn- is living with MARY POLLY and her husband, WILLIAM PAISLEY. RIPPY, in HUNT CO, TEXAS. I've traced ABNER from 1820 in GUILFORD, NC to 1830, RHEA CO, TN, to 1840, PULASKI CO, MO, (living next door to Mary and husband WM P. RIPPY). He may be the "ABNER WETHERLY" who obtained land in "THE PETERS COLONY" in DENTON CO, TEXAS, arriving there in 1848, as a widower with 5 children. Texas Land Title Abstracts for DENTON CO/ FANNIN District are found for him in 1860, 1866 and 1873, for "Heirs of ABNER WETHERLY, deceased." I suspect he may have married RACHEL EUBANKS, per marriage record 28 Sep, 1819, GUILFORD, NC. I've found trees for WILLIAM, died 1824, GUILFORD, NC, but there is conflicting info.
