Classification: Query
Surnames: Wethersby, Wethersbye, Boulton, Rolfe, Rich, Mansell
My family is descended from Bartholomew Wethersby, who settled in Elizabeth City, (Hampton) Virginia about 1616. In 1620, he married Dorythie Boulton. They lived with her brother, Richard Boulton, at the time. Richard apparently arrived in Virginia in 1610.
They would have been contemporaries of Pocahontas & John Rolfe.
Does anyone have any leads on this branch of the Wethersby family? (I've noticed our line evolved through multiple spelings.)
I'm also curious as to whether there is a connection with (1) Henry Wethersby, who contracted w/ Robert Rich to farm land on shares, the land adjacent to that of Sir Robert Mansell; or (2) -------- Wethersbye, killed in the uprising of 1622-23.
