I may have some information that may help. My Mother was Rosemary Wechter Binsack. Her father was John Anthony (I think someone said it was Andrew)Wechter. He was one of the 12 children noted. He was Married to Dorothy Hipp. Please let me know what information I can possibly provide to you.

Ran into this site. I am a grandson of Frank Joseph Wechter and Clara Pifher of Norwalk Ohio. My father is Frank Victor Wechter and my mother is Barbara Jean Wechter of Norwalk, Ohio. My father is the only surviving child of Frank and Clara.

I am guessing that this is just coincidence but my mother's maiden name was wechter, and she married a cohen, his mother's name was sultana arrived at ellis island 1922 with my father. I do not really know much about my mother's family, the wechter side. Supposely her family came from a village in russia, had two brothers hymie (spelling) and lou. several sisters including one named bessis but I don't know what her married name was. (She live in florida and died there in the 60s) Like I said just coincidence with the closeness of the names, including my father's name which was isidore (not isadore) my mother's name was fanny wechter (fay)

My grandmother was Arvilla Wechter and I am interested in any info you have on the Wechter side family tree. I have pictures and lots of people but only go back as far as George 1806-1884 and his wife Frances born in 1795.

John Burris--- mothers name was Nancy Nichols father was Daniel Burris --
John's death certif. doesn't asy where the parents were born.
He was born may 3 1841 died may 9 1917, Buried Ashland cem. St. Joseph.. (Ashland has the Civil War Vets.)
Johns wife Anna was the Wechty.. Betsey is listed as Mother in Law... age 64 where born not listed.

Pat Butler actually contacted me a few months ago and we have been exchanging information, so anything that you have she has probably already sent my way. Would you by any chance know where George L. Wechter fits into the family? He was married to Celesta Frances Pifher, who was actually a niece of Clara Cecilia (Pifher) Wechter, who was Frank's wife. I am related to the Pifhers and thus both of these Wechter lines. If you have any info on the family of George that Pat Butler would not have had, I would definitely be willing to exchange info on my side for anything on them.

I am related to Frank Joseph Wechter. He is the son of Joseph and Amelia (Fisher) Wechter. Joseph and Amelia had 12 children: Josephine, John Andrew, Elizabeth, Mary, Frank, Rosenia, William, Amelia, Charles, Patronilla, Linus and Gertrude. I am in contact with a descendent of Frank and Clara named Patricia Butler. Have info to share on the Fishers and will of course provide info she sent me if her email is no longer in use.

Yes, Frank Wechter, my grandfather, married Clara Pifher. They had 12 children--Joseph, Anthony, Bernice, Alfred, Delores, Florence, Edna, Art, Martha and Frank, plus 2 who died shortly after birth-Herman and one I cant think of his name. M.C. that you mention is probably Martha Celestina-my Mom. Only Martha, Delores and Frank are still living. My grandparents had a farm over by Norwalk. One of my cousins lives there now.I have a full notebook on the Wecters and one on the Pifhers. My geneology info is not on computer--all in notebooks.

I'm searching for the families of two Wechters who married two Pifhers. Frank Joseph Wechter, 1882-1968, married Clara Cecilia Pifher, 1883-1973. They had at least two children, Albert J. and M.C. and lived in the Norwalk, Ohio area. I know nothing more of their descendants.

Clara's niece Celesta Frances Pifher, 1901-1987, married George L. Wechter, 1900-1985. I do not know how George is related to Frank, though it is likely he too is a nephew. Celesta and George had 12 children: Catherine, Janice, George L Jr. (died WWII), Margaret, Beatrice G., Jerome, Norman W., Helen, Joan, Louis, Ann May, and Alfred S. (died young)

If anyone has any info on descendants, please please respond. I would be glad to share the info I have (mostly on the Pifhers).

Yes! Yes! My grandfather, Frank Wechter is the son of Joseph and Amelia Wechter. Amelias mother is the Josepha Remele (spelled may different ways) you mention. I did not know she had a twin. Josepha is buried in Norwalk Ohio in a small cemetery behind a shrine on Main street. She is buried with her triplets -I have their names at home--all died at birth and she did too. I have some pictures and lots of info at home. Can you email me.

I was wondering if your Frank Wechter happens to be the son of Joseph and Amelia (Fisher) Wechter? Amelia's mother Josephine (Remele) died giving birth to triplets and Amelia is a double first cousin of the father of the famous Fisher Brothers of Fisher Body fame. My ggggrandmother Rosina was the twin sister of Josephine. Have photos and info to share.

My widowed aunt, Theodosia Elizabeth Tedder McMullen, married Percy R. Wechter in 1948. They lived in Perry, Taylor County, Florida, but he came from South Florida and had a sister in Tampa named Hattie. Percy was born 2 February 1899 and died September 18, 1982. In his younger years, before moving to Taylor County, he followed construction work and was a operator of a barge mounted dragline in the construction of the Lake Okeechobee canals. In the 1930s, after the canal project had been completed, he moved to Taylor County where he engaged in f arming in the Shady Grove area. Percy served in the U. S. Army during World War II. In 1948, he married Theodosia Elizabeth Tedder, widow of Russell E. McMullen. They lived about two miles north of Perry on Highway 221. Although handicapped by a lack of formal education, he had g ood mechanical and construction skills and was endowed with a sense of business acumen. Dosia, who was some ten years his senior, died on July 31, 1973. Perhaps depressed over the loneliness in his life and the illneseses that accompany old age, Percy took his own life on September 18, 1982. He is buried next to Dosia in the Pleasant Grove cemetery in the northern part of Taylor County, Florida.
I am writing a biography of Percy and Theodosia for the Taylor County Historical Society and would like to have more information on his ancestors.

Cassell Wechter was my father's uncle. My father was Henry Wechter. And My Grand Father was Herman. I Have a sister
Isabel Cooper. I started to look up the family tree last year but never followed up on it. I was trying to find where the family origanated I have some info I will send you if all this make's sense to you.

My ggrandfather was also Joseph Wechter, but he lived in Huron County Ohio, died in Toledo, Ohio. They came to Ohio from the Rochester NY area. There is another Joseph Wechter further back on the family tree that I have some information on that fits in my family tree, but Im not sure where.

Im not sure where you fit in my family tree, but I grew up in Huron County Ohio and my grnadfather was Frank J. Wechter, ggrandfather Joseph Wechter. They came to Huron County from Rochester NY area around 1848. I dont have my geneology materials in front of me, but I know the 2 priests are on my tree somewhere--distant cousins I believe.

I have a Cassel Wechter who had 2 sons Sidney and Irwin and 2 daughters Winifred and Sarah. My Grandfather Herman was Cassel's brother. Both lived in Phila. If any of this helps I do have more info on the family that I obtained a few years back from talking to Irwin.

I have a Julia Wechter that was a great grandmother. She married Edward Stockmaster in Huron Co. Ohio. The surname spelling changes so much on this family. She had two brothers that became preists. On her brother Henry's headstone his name is spelled Waechter b.1880 d.1853 ordained 24 May 1902
The funural card that my grandmother saved for him has his name spelled Wechter.

Just now seen your post. Funny thing is that I was at the court house this morning looking for wills on my great grandfather Frank Wechter and I came across a will for Joseph so thought I would check it out to see if there was a mention of Frank or George. The will is dated 12 Dec 1877. If you would like have a copy of this if you don' t already then let me know.
