I will try to email it to you but it is a very dark card and might not go to well.
What it is is a card for the funeral palor (like todays small version) and it is about the size of a post card.
This person must have been from this area of NJ since it was in my grandmothers belongings.
Regards

Do you still have a copy of the obituary you wrote about? I have been researching a George Weddle from our line. I've been at a brick wall for years on him. Perhaps there would be some clues for me in this obituary. I don't need the original, I would just like to see if they name any of this guy's extended family and the locations they may have lived. Our George Weddle lived in the Sioux City, Iowa area and in SE South Dakota and possibly the NE corner of Nebraska in his lifetime. However, our George was born in Illinois- - one source says. I am wondering if the obit could be his father.

Our George lived: abt. 1861 - 11 Aug 1904. Wife Emma Stowers.

I am searching for decendants of Heinrich (Henry) Wedel. b. 1872 to Cornelius P. and Eva Pankratz Wedel in South Russia and came with his parents to America in 1874. He was a Baptist minister and resided in Kansas, Iowa and Michigan. He married Louisa _____ and I believe had five children, Esther, Edna, Wilbur, Ruth, and Henrietta. Any information regarding Heinrich and his descendants would be greatly appreciated. I am a grandson of his half-sister, Anna Wedel Berg (1861-1941).

I was interested to see the name Von Wedel. According to our family legion, that is the name given to our family line back in the 1500s by the Queen of Holland. Down the line the Von was dropped and we are now known as Wedels. Wonder if there could be a connection.

The Bakersfield Californian
Wednesday, November 23, 2005
Pg. Surrounded by her family, Cleo's spirit departed this earth peacefully on November 19, 2005 and was united with her Heavenly Father.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Alfred; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jan Wedel; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and her sister, Carol Hepp of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Cleo married Alfred Wedel on September 18, 1942 and they resided in Shafter their entire married life. After working 29 years for Stringham's and Shafter Drug Stores, Cleo jointly retired with her husband. They then began many enjoyable years of AARP trips with friends. later they enjoyed further adventures traveling with their trailer and with Cleo's sister, Francis and brother-in-law, Lowell and with many other couples who shared this interest.
Cleo is to be remembered for her love of people, enjoyment of laughter, ability to be a good friend, generous heart, hospitality, hare work ethic, self-discipline, belief in excellence, loyalty to family, her trust and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for being a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She will always be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to thank all the dedicated and loving caregivers at Shafter Convalescent Hospital, Optimal Hospice, and her extended church family at Valley Bible Church.

I have noticed your WEDEL family in my endeavors to find the extended family of our George A. WEDDLE. We think he was born about Nov. 1864 (or 1861?). He lived in Union Co., South Dakota (Dak. Terr.) ca. 1886-1894, then moved to Sioux City, IA. He married Emma STOWERS about 1886, possibly in the SE corner of South Dakota or in Sioux City, IA. We are not sure. George A. WEDDLE died tragically in a work related land slide in Sioux City in 1904. Does any of this ring true to your family?

The care was printed in Philadelphia and I live in NJ, so this man apparently is from the NJ area.
