Looking for family roots for Capt John Weimer, b 1799 Somerset County PA, lived and died in Donegal Twp 1859, married to Rebecca Porch Weimer (her father John Porch from York County PA, she died 1865). Local history book states Capt John Weimer's (great?) grandfather came from Germany about 1760 as a "redemptioner", lived in Somerset County, later lived and died in Saltlick Twp Fayette Co PA....anyone doing research on this line of the Weimer family?
