Bob,
I am also a descendant of Lewis Willis Pierson (1862-1942) and Wilimina Wimer (1863-1921). Here's what information I have.

I only have years for birth/death/marriage - no dates/places, but they were married in 1883. They had 7 children:

[1] Lillian Wilimina (1889-1926), m: 1910 to Carl Franklin Godden (1886-1954)
[2] Mildred Ellen (1892-1968), m: Donald M Harris
[3] Viola Lusineth (1894-1975), m: 29 Jun 1912 to James Albert Snook (1884-1952) {my great grandparents}
[4] Ralph W D (?-?) m: Leona Doster (?-?)
[5] Benjamin F (?-?) m: Thelma Simon (?-?)
[6] Elmer N (?-?) m: Mabel Wert (1886-1976)
[7] Dan (1903-1966) m: Elsie May Curliss (1903-1981)

The name of Lewis Willis Pierson's father is listed variously as Raiment, Rayment, and Raymond on different records, but most of his children's marriage records spell it Raymond B Pierson (1830-1896). His son Charles's birth record lists Raymond's birthplace as New York.* His wife is Deborah Jane Kerschner (appears as Jane in most records, in some last name is spelled Cashner) of Richmond Co, Ohio; daughter of John D Kerschner (1813-1856) & Elizabeth Easterday (1819-1860).

*Name: Charles Pierson
Birthdate: 02 Oct 1882
Birthplace: Burr Oak, St Joseph, Michigan
Gender: Male
Race or color (on document): W
Father's name: Raymond B Pierson
Father's birthplace: New York
Mother's name: Jane Pierson
Mother's birthplace: Ohio
Film number: 2320694
Digital GS number: 4207042
Image number: 339
Reference number: item 1 p 319 rn 313
Collection: Michigan Births 1867-1902
I have been researching this line and have found a wealth of information at the Lancaster County Historical Society. They have a folder of info on these people!

There are definitely interesting details about these people. For example, how was Michael Wimer was "killed"?

I believe I am a descendent of his son Henry Wimer, who he had with Elizabeth, the wife he brought with him to the states.

Robert Wimer
Hershey, PA
bob@wimer.com
Ah, and looking back...

The 1850 census gives Levi to have been about 50 years old. His youngest child, Taylor, is shown to have been about 2. Being that old, Levi probably didn't have many children after Taylor, if he had any at all. I'm looking but can't find this family in the 1860 census, however.

But anyway, even the (known) youngest, Taylor, come 1870, would have been about 22. I find him in the census for Clinton, Monongalia, living with the Watson family. It's probable that all of Levi's children, by this time, were old enough to have moved out and started their own families. I do know that Clemenza Wymer married James Morgan. She died early and then James was remarried to her sister, Mary. I don't know anything about the other children.

Yes you're right. The record does not give any of Levi's children. I can only assume they were living somewhere else. As for the ages, census records are common in fudging or rounding dates and ages. His age in both the 1850 and 1870 censuses could be off. When comparing them, an error of 6 years collectively isn't all that odd.

Out of curiosity, are the kids still living with them in your 1870 census. The one I have doesnt have any kids living with them. I also noticed that Levi only aged 14 years between my 1850 record and the 1870 record.

hmm this is interesting.

I too found Levi in the 1850 & 1870 censuses, giving his birthplace as Virginia. I do think you are mistaken about him being in Somerset, PA, though, as I found him and Jane in the 1870 census for Winfield, Marion, WV.

Anyway, in the 1880 census, he & Jane are still in Winfield, Marion. But this record shows both his birthplace, and the birthplace of his mother and father, to have been in Maryland! What the heck?

I have the descendency of Levi. Dont have much about him personally, other than 1850 and 1870 census listings for his family. He lists his place of birth as Virginia, occupation listed as blacksmith in 1870, farmer in 1850. 1850 they lived in Marion county, Virginia. 1870 they lived in Somerset, PA. I believe Jane Spicer, his wife, was born in Hampshire, VA. They had at least six children all listed as born in Virginia.
Catharine Weimer b. 20 aug 1847 d. 28 jan 1926 married Hugh A Hoskins
Mary Weimer b. 1839
Clemnya Weimer b. 1842
Taylor Weimer b. 1848
Sarah Weimer b. 1852
Hannah Weimer b. 1858

All of this info, except for about Catharine Weimer, are from the 1850 and 1870 census listings.

Brian

Maria Magdalena Weimer - Pennsylvania

I am looking for any information on Maria Magdalena Weimer who was born about 1811 in Pennsylvania. She married Friederich Jacob Linn about 1836-37, their oldest son Wilhelm Edward was born then in Pennsylvania. Their second child, Elizabeth was also born there in 1842. They are on the 1850 census in Illinois. I found a baptism record for their youngest child in Illinois that gave Maria's middle and maiden name. Any help would be appreciated.

Weimer (sometimes spelled Wenner). Fredrick and Warner were brothers. I am searching Weimers from John J.(b. 1858) and Susan Cox. I heard there were 2 Weimer men who married 2 Cox sisters. So there are two famliy lines that get together for Weimer family reunions the first Sat in August, in Girard, Ohio.
Hey Andrea, there are some obvious connections as my side of the Weimer family are all from Sask. Also, I know pretty certainly that we trace some roots back to Odessa.

My initial feeling is that your Benedict (born 1862) might be the brother of my Valentine Weimer (born 1852).

Here is some info on Benedict that I think is part of my tree:
http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=roswit...

Hi Todd - Katherinea Rissling is my great grand aunt. I don't have any info on Valentine Weimer? I only have their children as being Mary, Franz (Frank), and Joseph. Can you tell me what you know about him? I would love to add him to my family tree! I can try to help you out with info on other family members. Please contact me!

Andrea
lushy@cox.net
Hi Todd - Here is a link to my tree, hopefully we can figure out a connection. I agree that they all must be from the same family. I have sources for most of my info, but unfortunately I lost them in my tree. I am working on adding them back in. I have the books, "My Grandmother's People" and "Treasured Memories". If you are looking for anything specific I can look it up.

http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=eiler-rissling&amp...

Andrea
