Fredrick Weiner

I'm looking for any information about a Fredrick Weiner this is my husbands ggrandfather. I know that he was born in Germany his son was John Weiner & they lived around the Chicago, IL area. I've found a census with John's name on it with only the mother's name on it & that was listed a
K. Weiner. John I think worked in a glass factory before becoming a police officer. John committed sucide in 1927 by haning himself in his father-in-laws barn in Van Buren Co MI

My grandfather, Abraham, was born near Kiev, he said "Pliskov"
around 1888. He defected from the Russian army during the Russo-Japanese War and made it to New York City around the turn of the century (1900). He was a tailor and dress designer. He moved to Philadelphia around 1930.

My great-grandmother was Rivka "Nellie" Weiner. I don't know if she lived in Kiev; she did, however, bring over several family photographs taken in Berdichev, Ukraine. I think she was born around 1861 and came to the US around 1880. She married Hyman Goldberg; they had four sons (including my grandfather, Harry) in Riverhead, NY, then moved to Detroit around 1918.

Cher, does this sound as if my Rivka Weiner might be the same person as yours? Please let me know! Thanks.

My father Leonard Weiner was born in 1915 in NYC. His parents (?) and Rebecca came thru Ellis Island from Lithuania. Their name was changed from Vainer to Weiner. There were relatives named Werserb. Len had 2 sisters Ida (Moskov) and Bessie (Lowy). Len married Bernice Phillipson in 1943 and moved to upstate New York. Looking for more family history and any relatives.

Children are Sophia b. 1887, Rebecca b.1890, Maurice b 1892, Clara b. 1894, Samuel b. 1895, Mary b. 1896, Ida b 1898, Nathan b. 1900, and one other son. This family lived in Philadelphia during the late 1800's and early 1900's. Any information would be fantastic. I have census records for 1900, and 1910.

My grandfather, Charles Weiner, born in Vladivostok, Russia in 1906 moved to America with his mother and brother Irwin around 1912. Prior to this, (don't know when exactly) his father had moved to America alone to get set up and then sent for the wife and kids. They settled in Milwaukee.

Would these be the same Weiners? I have very little information myself about this branch of the family.

Thanks so much Morton. I did find out a bit more (been on the phone a lot today!) and I now know that Charles Weiner's parents names were Wolf and Rose Weiner. But I can't seem to find any information prior to their emigrating from Vladivostok. But it does seem there were many Weiners in the area at the time.

My father's family is from what is now Belarus. They emigrated about the same time as your ancestors, but settled for a short time in Pennsylvania and then went to Chicago. The names in your message are not familiar to me. Good luck in your quest.

I am the great grandson of Henry Weiner and Mary Burkhart. I believe that you are descended from Mary's
sister Rosina/Rose (I've come across your postings a couple of times).

I can provide you with information on the Columbus Weiner's (asked for 9 years ago). I also have some information on the Burkhart's in Germany. In return, I'd be interested to know about Rose's family, why they moved to Washington, and if some the family is still there.

I also have Weiner and Delugach names in a line I'm researching. Louis Lettes (born abt 1890) had three children. They are Evelyn, Sylvia and Arthur. Evelyn married Benjamin Weiner. Arthur married Jane Delugach. My Weiner and Delugach married into the Lettes family and so they are brother and sister-in-law to each other.

Weiner's from Baltimore- possibly cousin's in Los Angeles.

My father's name was Alex (Elec) Weiner from Baltimore, Maryland. He had cousin's from California. His parents were Ethel and Mandel Weiner, came from Trochenbrod with their daughter, Rosie, in the early 1900's. They had 5 more children- Bessie, Dorothy, Willie, Elec (my father) and Annie.

Any of these names sound familiar?

My great-grandfather was Jacob Weiner. He came from Stepan (not sure of spelling). This is in the vicinity of Kiev. He had 3 sisters and 1 brother. His parents were Samuel and Toba-Leaha. It's possible that there is a connection.

I have recently received some old photos from my grandfathers stuff.

I have a Navy photo from about 1945. My grandfather had some of the men in the picture write what number they were in the picture, then sign their names on the back. Mr C.J. Weiner is one of those men. If any one would like a copy of the photo please let me know.

I am searching for any information on my G/Grandfather Samuel WEINER, born around 1879.
He was naturalized in South Africa (no date known att) then came to England where he went on to marry Rose (LEVIN) and they had four children , Annie, Henry, Jacob and Hetti.

On his head stone it gives his fathers name as the son of Zvi Arie ( Hirsh Leon)

I am looking for decendants of three of my ancestors that where sent to Canada as part of the child migration scheme in 1891, they where Maggie, Pauline,and Adolph.
Maggie and Adolph last known place of residence was St Albans in Vermont. Maggie married a Henry Vosburg in May 1898.
There surname was mispelt on the ship's passenger list should be Wiener.

Thanks for the message. I know nothing of parents, siblings of Rose. I do know that Rose married Jacob Engleman and that this was a second marriage for both. I don't know if that marriage took place in this country or Russia. I don't even know if Weiner is her maiden name or her first husband's name. Rose died in her forties, Jacob disappeared, and the children (my grandmother is one) lost touch with each other.

I am looking for Weiners related to my great grandparents, Max and Jennie Rice (Rushnick, Rusinek). Max and Jennie were living in England and then emigrated to the United States and arrived first in Providence where their son, Gilbert was born, and then moved to Brooklyn, NY. There children were Harry, Maurice (Murray), Sarah, Ben (Barnet), Gilbert, and then later Herbert (Bert) and Ethel.

My father, Harold Seltzer, (grandson of Max and Jennie)remembered them fondly and would visit them in the late 1930s when he was a traveling salesmen. He said the Rhode Island relatives would come to Passover Seder at the Rice home in Brooklyn, and there were so many people that the table would extend out the door of their apartment into the hall.

Does any of this sound familiar?

I also have Weiner relatives from Kiev, or Korosten, Ukraine (Also named Iskorost, Kiev, Russia in the "old days") My Great grandmother's maiden name was Yetta Weiner. She had a sister, Rivka Weiner who was still living in Korosten when Yetta immigrated to the US to meet with her husband, Max Waxman. Please let me know if any of these names are familiar to you.

My husband mother was Yetti Ivanier and she was born in Visznitza, now Ukrania, but before was Rumania, she was born 1913, she had lived in Uruguay from 1934 to her death 5 years ago.

I have a great uncle Max Weiner. His parents were Benjamin and Rebecca Weiner. They may have changed their names to Barnett and Reba Winer. There were at least three other children, Abraham, Sarah, and Matilda (Tillie), my grandmother. I know nothing about any of them except what's listed in the 1910 census.
