He lived in the Lancaster, Wisconsin area until his parents: Peter Weins [1862-1937] and Marguerita Heinrichs Weins [1862-1922] moved to Mason City, Iowa, in 1900, and to Audrain County, Missouri about 1910. Francis was a World War I veteran who served in Texas. His father, Peter Weins is buried in the same cemetery as Francis. They were living at 131 North Second Street in Missoula when Francis' father died in 1937.
