It's been so long since your original post; I don't know if you'll see this:

My maiden name is "Wiesner" and I am originally from Rochester, NY. My grandparents, Adolph and Mollie (Mauli according to the ship manifest) were from Hungary. I don't recall seeing or hearing about any of their siblings. I know my father (William) had two cousins "Harry Wiesner", one from Syracuse, NY and one from Brooklyn (Bronx?). My father had an older sister "Rose" and a younger brother "Harold".

I hope you receive this and it is helpful to you.

Karen Wiesner Sadoff Harris

I am searching my heritage too and there is a John Sommerlad b. Germany and his wife Elizabeth Weisner b. Germany - I have no actual dates except a son Caspar emigrated here circa: 1845 - 1853. He died here in NY in 1926 - and was either 73 or 81 years of age - I have no further information on his parents whether they stayed in Germany or came with Caspar. Do you have the Town/county the Weisner family came from? It might give me a lead to my surname: Sommerlad?

Hi,
I couldn't help but notice the two surnames you are both talking about. I too have WEISNER and HOFFMAN ancestors from MENOMINEE County, Michigan. The Weisner family I'm looking for lived in Dagget, Michigan. I don't know when they arrived, but they were living there sometime in the 1890's. They were still there according to the 1930 census, but I can find no death records for any of them.

My great, great grandma, Anna Hoffman supposedly died in Amberg Germany & her 3 children were sent to America to live with her sister (their aunt), Catherine Hoffman. Catherine was married to a man named Herman WEISNER.

Herman & Catherine had 2 children: Theodore & Mary.

According to the 1930 census, Theodore had married a woman named Myrtle & they had 3 children: Edna, June & Raymond.

Do any of these names sound familiar???

Thanks so much.
Cammie Jordan

The Weiser name has been published many, many ways so I think that very few of us know the correct spelling when they first arrived. I am looking for the parents of Sarah Wesiser,Weseser on her death certificate.( I couldn't tell if it was an e or an undotted i.) Her parents were born in Massachusetts per a census but one says Maryland. I really do not know. Sarah, her daughter, was born in Beaver County, Pa. where Conrad Weiser has his name about 12 times but most of them claim that he wasn't there. However, a genealogist says he was there and gave me a page out of a book.My grandmother Sarah was born 2-07-1801 in Beaver, Pa. and she married c1824 as her first son was born in 1825. All of her children were born in Beaver, Pa. Sarah's parents would have been born c1745-1762 and married c1785-1800. I am posting the names of the children.(in the hope that the names might circulate through the families) Their names were George W.; Catherine; Thomas; John (probably after his father John Moffitt) Elizabeth; Jacob; Andrew; and Sarah M. I would appreciate hearing from you if you recognize this family. Thank you. Ann

My grandmother, Lena, was a Weisner. Her father Theodore was born in Germany but married Lena Enweller when he moved to the U.S. Lena Weisner was born in Browns Valley, Minnesota, Traverse County, in 1894. She married August Schaede and had five children. That is about all I know about her, other than she died at the age of 53 from tuberculosis. Her father Theodore lived with us when I was young but no one seems to know much about his family. We resided in Champaign, Illinois when he lived with us. I would like to know more about Lena Weisner or her relatives. Thanks you

Nancy is a dau. of Martin & Rebecca (Brady) McCrary found in the 1850 Ohio Co., VA Census. She is not listed with the family in the 1860 Greene Co., IL Census. A cousin recently gave me a picture of her seated with a Gentleman standing nearby and on it was written, "Grandpa's sister, Nancy Weisner". Grandpa is Thomas Nathan McCrary spelled "McCreery" in the IL Census. The picture was taken by the Jessie Shrake studio in LaCygne, KS, no date but maybe 1880's.

Searching for info on birthplace and parents/siblings of John Woessner, my great-grandfather. John was born in Germany, possibly in Wurttemburg, in about 1874, and immigrated to the US in about 1881. He married Louise Stackley in Chicago in 1894. The marriage record lists his name as Johann Weisner, but he was known as John Woessner from at least the early 1900s. John and Louise had four children: John, Florence, Margaret, and Louise. John died in Chicago, 21 January 1941.

Thank you for sharing any info you might have.

George Weisner (Philadelphia, PA Area?)

Hi everyone. I am looking for information on my great-grandfather George Weisner (born around 1894). I know very little about him, but this is what I have so far:

Sometime in the 1930s, George met my great-grandmother Ida Harris(her maiden name is Rozankowski, but she married a George Harris) in Philadelphia, PA. They hooked up for awhile (I don't think they married) and had two children together:
1) Beatrice Weisner (Sept 25, 1939) -> my grandmother
2) George Weisner (unknown) ->died shortly after birth.

I believe George was married to someone else at this time. On my great aunt's birth certificate, there is a different mother listed:
3) Georgiana Weisner (April 5, 1940).

Georgiana's mother is listed as Hannah Elizabeth Weisner (maiden name unknown). There is no father listed, but we know for sure its the same George Weisner

I have no clue of where George Weisner was born, died or other relatives. I only know the above births occured in Philadelphia, PA.

I hope this matches with someone's data and we can compare notes. Please send me an email if there's a match. I respond to all emails I receive within a day or two, otherwise it didn't make it to my inbox. Thank you.

John Zuggi
email: heinz4lif@msn.com
