Welling-earliest land records or personal records in New Jersey
I have found information that both a John Welling and a William Welling were among the early inhabitants of Mercer and Hunterdon counties. John Welling bought land in Hopewell in 1727, and from John Carpenter in 1736. William Welling sold land in Maidenhead to Cornelius Barentse Slecht in 1708. Does anyone have information about when William Welling bought this land and from whom? Did he continue to own land in Maidenhead, selling only a portion of his holdings? Who was his wife and who were his children. Any ideas about where or how I can expand on this information would be greatly appreciated.
