My name is Sara Wellman. My father is David Wellman, son of Aloysius Wellman, son of Gerhard Wellman who immigrated to Iowa in 1884 from Ankum, Germany. Gerhard had 6 siblings, two of which died of sickness and are not listed here: Johann Herman Bernard who came to the US in 1897, Bernard who immigrated to US in 1883, Maria Elisabeth who had a son, Wilhelm, to moved to New York, and Johann Heinrich who stayed in Germany.

I have traced the Wellmans back to Johan Gerd Wellman, born in 1709 in Ankum, Germany, who was the son of Herman Wellman from Ankum, Germany. I am seeking information on Herman Wellman who was married to an unknown woman.
