I believe some of us are cousins! I just made a wonderful trip to Frankfort, KY to an Elderhostel on KY Genealogy. After the Elderhostel, my sister and I journeyed to Green,Hardin, Grayson and Hart Counties there in KY.
Samuel Duncan's father was Lewis Wells and, Martha Hamilton his mother. Lewis' father was Phillip Wells, married to Elizabeth Cook. Does anyone have anything about Elizabeth Cook?
Does anyone have information on the Hamiltons? Martha's sister Anna Hamilton married Samuel Darvin Wells, who was Lewis' brother.
Both Lewis and his brother Samuel Darvin Wells were born in South Carolina. Phillip and Elizabeth Wells, Lewis and Samuel Darvin all later moved to KY.
Samuel Duncan Wells and Matilda Brunk Wells were born in KY about 1805, died in Davis County, IA, in 1893, one day apart. I'd like to know Matilda's mother's maiden name. Does anyone have it?
You may email me if you'd like. I'd like to find out more from anyone on these ancestors.
In the Progeny of Christopher Brunk, it doesn't say what the maiden name of Matilda Brunk's mother was, does it? I didn't find it. I read somewhere else that it might be Burkhart, but it wasn't certain at all. I would like to know that, if anyone has it. Happy hunting!
