I wonder if you have considered looking in early Pennsylvania for your Wells connection? Many families migrated back and forth from Fayette / Westmoreland PA to Loudon Co VA at about that time period. I am struck by the name Benjamin Wells in that line -- much more typical for PA Wells families than VA Wells families. I also note that at least one Wells family out of PA (also with a marriage of an Elizabeth Wells in Loudon Co -- but somewhat later and to another man) traveled through TN, KY, and IN into Indiana with a Rev. Abraham Stark who later migrated to Vigo Co, IN. Just a thought.
