My ggg grandfather was William Wellwood b.1816 in Inverkeiting, Fife, Scot. On his 2nd marriage certificate (1860 in Sct) he indicates that his father was James Wellwood, Missionary Minister Upper Canada. It appears that his father (b.abt 1785) was still living at the time and would be about 70 to 80 years old. I have looked in many Canadian records and can't find a James Wellwood in Ontario in the census,or death records that is of the correct age for the time of the census.I did find a James M Wellwood in the immigration records but not sure of his age. Does anyone out there have a James Wellwood who was a minister in Canada? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
