Our family has a lost "Uncle" that I hope has some descendants out there. His name was Fritz Wenberg born July 1885, most likely in Joliet, Will County, IL. We do not know if Fritz was his actual name or a nickname. Supposedly around 1915, he had a fight with his sister over plans to marry. At which point he disappears.

Recently I discovered a WW1 Draft Registration : 5 June 1917
Elmer Wenberg, b. Jan 1888 in Joliet IL
occucpation : Mason Foreman
His address is 4811 Prairie Dr. Chicago IL
He has a wife and a son, names not listed

Also found Cuyler Wenberg, same date of registration; same address; same location of birth.

My grandfather was Elmer O. Wenberg of Joliet IL. He had a cousin named Cuyler Wenberg. At one time my grandfather hired a PII. to try to find his brother, Fritz. No trace was ever found. My Grandfather was a Stone Mason. Many of the extended family were in this trade.

The coincidences have me thinking, could Fritz have taken his younger brother's name, Elmer ? I'm sure it is most unlikely, but you never know. If any of this matches your family and you are at a brickwall, maybe we should talk.......
