I don't have much real information on Minnie Wenberg. According to all of the census records I have found, she was born in Finland in October, 1859 and she came to the states in 1870. According to some census records, both of her parents were Finnish, according to others, her father was Finnish and her mother was Swedish. As far as I know, she was married to Edward W. Wenberg on 20 November, 1880 in Houghton, MI. However, I don't have a copy of the marriage certificate.
According to the family lore I have heard, she came to the states as a young girl (per census records she was 11) and was raised by an uncle and aunt in Wisconsin or Minnesota. She taught school up in the Copper Country before, during, and/or after her marriage. Her maiden name was Esko (or Eski). That's about it - and none of that is substantiated in any way.
I'd be interested in any real information anyone has - including her actual dates of birth and death (is somebody close to check her headstone sometime?)...a record of her marriage to Edward W. Wenberg...her family name...and the name/location of the folks who raised her here in the states.
