He is my great-great grandfather born Sept 19, 1818 in Schwaan/Wiendorff, Germany. He came to the US 1858 and registered to become a citizen in Outagamie, WI in 1868. He died Dec 10, 1901 and was buried in the Medodist Church Cemetary at Center, Outagamie, WI. He married Anna Moen, Maughn, or Mauhn (not sure of the spelling). She was from Sweden. They had four children: John, Henry, Anna and August (my great grandfather) All four children are buried in Seymour, WI - City Cemetary.

I have been at a dead end in my search to find the German place of origin for my Wendt family. Hopefully, someone will be able to provide some connection or suggestions for me.

My Wendt line contains John Wendt 5/1/1852-3/17/1940. He came to the US aroud 1869. I do not think he came with any other family members. The earliest census I find him in is 1880 married to Mary with a daugther Emma. In 1900 he lived on 22 Moorman Street in Chicago, which is the same location I find another Wendt family living at in the 1880 census. I am not sure what the connection is, but since it is the same house (and surname), I assume there is a relation there (possibly uncle). I am hoping that someone can connect with the Wendts living on Moorman Street in 1880.

If my additional research of this "new" Wendt family is correct, Louis married a Johanna and had the following children:

I hope someone has a connection to this new Wendt family that I have found.

Many of the Wendts that I am connected to are buried in Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park, IL. There two main churches were First Bethlehem (LCMS) LeMoyne Ave and German Lutheran church Ada Street.

Fredrich is my granddad. The family in Cooktown Australia 7 March 1883 and settled in the Landsborough/Nundah area south east queensland.

My stepdaughter's ancestor, Diedrich H. Ebeling, was married to an Emma Wendt on 5 October 1898 in Cook County. They had two sons, Elmer Ebeling b. 1899 and Richard Ebeling born about 1901.

Apparently Emma Wendt Ebeling died on 23 November 1915 in Chicago at age 38. (She was born October 1877 in Illinois.)

It seems that Diedrich then married a Frieda or Freda Wendt, a widow with a young son, Leslie Wendt, born about 1905. Perhaps Freda was a sister-in-law to Emma Wendt. Freda was also born about 1877.

Any help in untangling these family relationships is sincerely appreciated.

I bought a cabinet card photo identified as Minnie Lang WENDT. It was taken by Julius Gross Photography in St. Louis, MO. I believe Minnie is the wife of Walter M. WENDT, a wood worker, in the 1930 Census living in St. Louis, MO at 4221a Juniata with his sister Marie Walters.

I am not related, but I would like to connect this photo with a family member or family researcher. Please contact me if you have an interest in this photo. It is in excellent condition.

Minnie is wearing a dark dress with a triangular inset of another dark fabric. The dress has a high neck with a long gold pin at the neck. She is wearing small wire framed glasses, small dangling earrings, and has upswept hair.

I would like to make contact with the descendants of J Ernst Frederick/ Fred Wendt and Verena Louise Warth who remained in the Newport, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio area. The Wendts came to Hamilton Co, Ohio from Newark, New Jersey in about 1838/39. Fred Wendt was from Berlin, Germany and worked as a blacksmith/ springmaker. Verena Warth came to New York City with her family ( Marcus and Elizabeth Becker Warth and siblings) in 1834 from Canton Glarus, Switzerland. The Warths were married in Newark, New Jersey in 1835 in a German Lutheran Church. Fred and a son were 2 of several founders of the Salem Methodist Church in Newport, KY. The records for the church are at the Archives in Alexandria,Campbell County Kentucky. The Wendts are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky. Fred Wendt has a brother Charles and wife Catherine and a brother Henry that are living in Cincinnati, OH by 1850. The Warth family came to Cincinnati with the family of Verena's sister, Catherine Warth Conover and her husband William Conover. I am searching for a marriage record for the Conovers and help with parents and siblings for William Conover. The Conovers moved on from Cincinnati in 1856/57 to Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. I am currently searching for information regarding my great-grandfather Herman Johan Carl Wendt (4.20.1881-1970). Parents were Carl Wendt and Maria gib Bartel. Herman Wendt was born in Franklin, Wisconsin. He had always told our family that he was an only child; however, recently I found an old life insurance policy application that stated he had 5 brothers and 5 sisters. This would be possible since he had a falling out with his father and would not speak to him after he was an adult. The falling out was over his father's drinking problem.

Does anyone have any information on possible siblings of Herman Wendt? Also would appreciate any information on his parents.

I have come across several Minnie Wendts on this message board, but not "my" Minnie Wendt. She was born in Prusssia/Germany in Feb. 1858 and married Henry Niedermeyer on 02 Jan 1876. They had 4 children---William, Annie, Charles, and Lillie, all born in Scott, WI (Columbia Co.). I can trace her thru the census from 1880 forward, but not back. Hello Everyone.

I too am searching for info on the Wendt family.
the only info i have at present is as follows:

Jonas Wendt,born about 1730 +/-.He apparently left Germany in 1754.He married a Helena Jacobs & they had 3 children(names unknown).Apparently they were married on 6th May 1759 7 she died 26th July 1774.

My late grandfather was a Jacob Jacobus Windt(the spellin g changed somewhere down the line).He was born on the 31st December 1896, in Cape Town/Province, South Africa.
He had a brother by the name of James Windt who apparently went to Ireland(I think) & also had a sister by the name of Christina.

That unfortunately is the only info I have.
If there is anyone out there who is able to supply me with any info or leads I would be most grateful.

Ralph E. Wendt, 88, of Loveland passed away Aug. 22, 2004.
Ralph was born Aug. 17, 1916, in Tigerton, Wis., to Ernst and Ida Newman Wendt. Following his education, Ralph was involved in dairy farming and later entered the Army during World War II. He served in Europe under Gen. Eisenhower and received four Bronze Stars during that time.
On Nov. 3, 1945, Ralph married Eunice Fuller. They initially farmed and later operated a service station near Oshkosh, Wis. In 1962 they moved to Mesa, Ariz., where Ralph retired from Talley Industries in 1979. Following retirement, Ralph and Eunice lived in Strawberry, Ariz., for two years before moving to Colorado.
Ralph enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and bowling. He loved the Lord and was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Fort Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice; daughters Mary Ann Cancil and husband Allan of Denver and Judy Caldwell and husband Dave of Erie; grandson Mason Taggart of Fort Collins; brother Harvard Wendt of Omro, Wis.; sister Virginia Goyke of Fort Myers, Fla.; and sister-in-law Isabelle Wendt of Oshkosh.
He was preceded in death by daughter Betty Sobotka in 1988; his parents; three brothers, Alfred, Earl and Wilbert Wendt; and a sister, Viola Peppler.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Allnutt Funeral Home, 2100 Lincoln Ave., Loveland.

I am aware that Jeannine C. Wendt m. 1960 to Darrell Matthews. He stems from the Nahnsen family that married into Frieda and Mary Meyer family. They descended from Jurgen Heinrich Wilhelm and Jurgen Heinrich Friedrich of Germany. A 'round robin' circulated our families in the 60's and I would like to find out who has all the old copies, if they are around. I would also like to discover where the family members are so one can ask them as well. The family siblings of Frieda and Mary have certainly scattered and I have only names on my 6 page list of descendants. So I would appreciate help.
I am also in particular looking for a relative possibly on the list, who may have moved to Martin county- Fairmont, Mn.; when or after William Meyer my grand uncle did.

We aren't talking about the same Minnie. Since I posted the message I have been able to find some more information. Mine was born Marinda E. Wendt , Apr. 1866 in Indiana.She was married to a Grimsley having 3 children Franklin, Lillie, and Sammie. Married Daniel R. Brown 1854 in MO. At the time of the 1900 Census had 4 children ,Oscar being the 4th the son of Daniel. Most of what history I know of is in MO but she did have Franklin in Kansas. Maybe your Minnie is granddaughter or cousin.

Looking for all info on my mother's family.

Her grandparents were James Mundy & Mary Keating b sometime in the 1800's I don't have anymore info then this.

Her father was James Vincent Conerty - he died on 9-Jul-1933
Her mother was Rose Veronica Mundy (known as Hattie) she died in the mid 1950's she served in WW2 in the WAC's. Their children were Mary Rose (my mom) b 3-Dec-1917, Helen b?, James Vincent Jr. b 02-Dec-1920 & Virginia Patricia b 11-May-1924.

James Sr had a sister Madge (married name Wendt) and a brother Thomas (he owned a moving company)

I believe Helen Wendt had two daughters Lucy and Helen
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
