I have John C. Wenk born ca. 1815, Holland in my Charles County file and am researching for the Nelson family, which is connected to Farral,Ferrell and Wenks/Winks of Charles County. Joseph Frank Arnold Celestine Wenk. born about 1856 he often went by A.C. and Arnold. He had a brother John. His father died when he was 5 and his mother later married a Mr. Zeinder ?(sp)and had other children.

I'm not sure if anyone can help me with my search for the Father of Anna Maria Wenk born 1715 in Pfalzgrafenweiler, Wurttenbug, Germany. Everything I have found indicates she was the daughter of Hans Wenk and Margareth Struder. The problem is that every source indicates this Hans Wenk wasn't born until 1573 in Wigoltingen, Thurgau, Switzerland. Anna Maria Wenk married Andreas Deeg (Dague), they were my seventh great grandparents. If you can help resolve this I will be sincerely grateful.

I am researching the Wenks as well. My ancestor was Joseph Wenk who married a Rosine Vaisen. The family talks of the Black forest area being where one of them is from. What is the "full name" of the person you are searching for?

I know the previous post is a few years old but hope it might still connect with others. I am researching my Grandfather Wenk who came to the US from Schmerkon, Switzerland about 1875. He returned for a couple of years to Switzerland to fulfill his military obligations. I believe in 1880 in came back to the US where settled in Jefferson County, NY. I would like to know if he had siblings or who his parents were back in
Switzerland and if any of them at a later time came to the US.

Well I know the previous post is now a few years old but hope it still connects with others. My grandfather Wenk came from Switzerland about 1875 and went back to serve his military duty returning to US about 1880. He settled in Jefferson County, NY. I would love to know if he had any siblings that came with him or those that might have stayed and come over later. Schmerkon was were he was from.

Anna Maria Wenk

I am a decedent of Anna Maria Wenk and Andreas Dague (Deeg). I have been searching in vain to find the correct information on her parents. The Anna Maria Wenk I am researching was born 22 September 1686 and died 13 January 1733. The information I have located claims she was the daughter of Hans Wenk born 1573 and died 1611, therefore considering this Hans was deceased long before her birth its very clear the information is incorrect.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who could help me locate her correct parents.

Granny Susie Wenk lived to be 92 and was a tiny lady.

Per 1860 Charles County Census I have:

Mary 34
Andrew 16
Henry 13
Elizabeth 11
John K. 9
Webster 6
James B. 4
Alice 2
William 4 mons

I have a Ernest and Albert Wenk that fits in somehow as well.They fall in around the early 1900s.

These Wenk's are a little confusing. I hope together we can figure them out.

I just copied and pasted what I have from my family tree. Honestly I have not worked on this branch in a few years so things may not be accurate. The genealogy sites improve their information all the time.

Here is what I have so far on my grandparents:

John H Wenk 1812-1885(married Mary Jane Garner)
John died in Charles County, MD

Daniel Webster Wenk 1855-1929(married Susan Ann Davis) As far as I can tell, Daniel Webster and Susan came to VA after 1884.
Daniel died in Alexandria, VA

Susanna Rosalie Wenk 1879-1944 (married Lucian Walker Harlow)
Susanna died in Burke, VA

Alice Marie Harlow 1902-1985(married Francis Joseph Latham)
Alice died in Fairfax County, VA

I have the other children's names for John H and Daniel Webster too. Let me know if you would like to check those too.

I am distantly related to this family through his great-grandson Leon who was my step grandfather.
